An extensive shipping material overload! (Patreon)

I really shouldn’t complain though. MoBricks were very thoughtful (as I had bought all three of these figs directly from them) and were kind enough to even sign the packages :)

But really though… this was overkill.

All three of these figs came with these HUGE “shipping cases” that felt more like jewelry boxes than minifig containers. It was a weird additional thing that, other than for shipping, really doesn’t end up being more than a higher price tag. You all know I’m pretty apprehensive about customizers using over-the-top expensive shipping cases like this each with their own exclusive prints and colors.

To me it’s always been more frivolous than practical. While it does make the unboxing more eventful, after that they just end up tucked away somewhere and I generally never touch them again.

These shipping box things were made out of a dense cardboard that gave them a hefty weight, as well as a fancy band of reflective tape around the outside where the jewelry case sealed.

It took me almost 10mins just get them all open! :P

First you take em out of the mailer/shipper, then out of the bubble wrap, then out of the cardboard sleeves, then out of the fancy jewelry cases (which were so tight I had to use a knife to get them out), then ya pull em out of the plastic clam shells and then FINALLY out of the little bags inside!

YEESH

It was like cracking a safe!

Well once inside though, the presentation was FANCY~

With that felt inner lining, and the printed clamshell plastic case, aaand the hard-plastic collectors card featuring unique illustrations to them all that are pretty cool. Not sure who drew them, but they’re neat :)

Now I should note that most of these things like the cards and cases are very much an AceBurningBrick staple, so I really shouldn’t fault both designers here, but part of the reason why I don’t order figures from Ace is due to their “over-doing it” with just about every figure they’ve released, and I also get that vibe a little from these three as well.

While that shouldn’t necessarily be seen as a complaint about these three figs… I just personally would have like to have seen a more screen accurate versions of them… but I’ll talk about that, in the next post!

;)
