The 1989 Batmobile - Update No. 1 (Patreon)

Well you all asked for it, so here we are! (I even put in the effort to finally buy those two 1989 Batman figs that came with the giant batmobile set so you know I'm serious about completing this thing) So yeah… you guys voted for me to do this, so if it all falls apart you can’t blame me! :P

Right, so this build is gonna be heavily inspired by Pat Lacroix’s work over on flickr! Technically speaking, I’m reverse-engineering his holiday retrofit of the Lego Batman 3 design using the parts from the 40433 official set. So it’s going to be a recolored copy of a redesign of a copy… depending on how you look at it.

I’m particularly fond of Pat’s idea to widen the build by a stud in the front and back, because it really lends itself to that weird hourglass shape the “real” car has. Not to mention that Pat had the most reference photos shared that I could find of that LB3 build anyway :P

But with that being said, I’ll try to update you guys as this goes and uh.. yeah. I think the next step will be to connect what I’ve assembled together with a Bricklink order for those 1x8  wheel well things...
