This new shield, while it looks fantastic, does feel a bit too clean from a design stand-point if that makes any sense. Like, the source material is very clearly where the red of the shield has been stripped off from combat. It looks worn and disheveled. Whereas this one PCB provided us with this fig looks like it was intentionally a light blue color applied to what should have really been a patchy red on top of that nice shiny silver base coating.

I know I’m being nit-picky here because a lot of other promotional action figures of this suit did have a similar, if not the exact light blue/silver combo Phoenix chose to go with. So I’m gonna chuck that one up as a personal opinion that I hate this shield and it’s the worst and I just like to complain because I can! :)

On another note!

The helmet is great! It’s intrinsically the same headpiece from Phoenix’s Endgame Cap from a few years ago, but if you were one of the few that missed out on said fig, this was another great way to get yourself one!

If any of you remember my review of that Endgame fig from a while back, you’ll recall just how much of a pain that helmet was to remove. Well I’m glad to report that this new one fits MUCH better than the last one. That old helmet was super snug and was a massive pain to remove if you ever wanted to change the expressions on a whim. So props to the new sizing. It fit’s like a glove! :)
