That gold tho! (Patreon)

Comparing this custom to Lego’s official Mark 42 is like trying to compare a fiat to a monster truck. Sure they’re both cars, but they are nowhere near the same! :P

Design and print wise, this is an absolute triumph on Phoenix’s bhalf! The detail is stunning and the translation from screen to figure is fantastic! The teeny tiny linework all over this fig is just- wow!

That gold lacquer is super clean! The printed hands, amazing and simple idea! And the bonus RDJ head (expressions and all) is wonderful! Although to be fair, it might have been a missed opportunity to have Tony’s weird google-glasses thing printed on to the head, but the one we got is still miles beyond the official head. That stressed expression is wonderful so I really shouldn’t complain :P

All in all, it really is a fantastic custom minifg. That helmet was a big swing and a miss, but in the end it’s still not the worst custom Iron Man helmet I’ve ever seen (I’m looking at you DonutBricks). In this last photo, I just swapped it with Jaka’s recent extra helmet and the gold matches pretty well!

But wait, I’ve still got more Iron Man posts planned to hold on to your seats!
