It’s that time of the week again where I’m so backed up with new figs that it’s time for another review instead of finding time for my Daredevil project or wrapping up the 1989 Batmobile photoshoot! Woo!

But let’s all just take a deep breath and put on our “dealing with it” hat's and just sorta pretend that everything is okay...

Okay, do we all feel better? Good :)

This killer Mystique by L1n6_Minifigures is just lovely and I’d like to talk all about it!

The shipping container (while only a little over the top) is good. A slide on cover with a foam insert. Of course as was the problem with my last pair of L1n6 figs, the collectors card plate 2x3 thing was just sorta floating around inside the case being ejected at some point  upon shipping.

So naturally I expected to see some scratches or scuffs on the fig but yet again I was lucky enough not to find any :)

The white printed over blue plastic is really nice. It’s a “color” that all customizers struggle to print over darker plastics, so seeing the application of that white being as white as it is is very nice to see. As is the bright gold(?) over the forehead for the crown. Though the layering isn’t as good for that silver(?) around the waist… but we’re gonna talk about that in a sec.

I say “(?)” is because in some lights it appears gold but it very well could be just the lighting arrangements I have set up. Though if I’m not crazy, the eyes also have that same sort of “is it silver or is it gold” reflective print that I couldn’t actively determine a color of them. They’re not chromed or reflective like a mirrored surface… but more glitter-like in a neat sort of way.

So if that was intentional for a character whose power is shape shifting, some major props to L1n6! If not, than it was just a sort of happy coincidence :P

The only thing I’m not super keen on is the design choice for the lower sides of the torso to be printed white when they’re adjacent to a black and dark blue print to imply an hourglass divot and curve of the belt. For one thing, the white is so strong (no doubt because it has to be) that those skulls on the belt look thin by comparison (specifically the left skull, you can see that very sharp line where the white stops and the black starts).

Granted, it is the best possible scenario for a rather rectangular body shape, but it’s just noticeable with all the white (even on the rather blank sides of the torso) It’s hard to overlook from one angle when some other prints imply different shaping.

And of course… the white on the sides of the torso already started rubbing off before I was even done taking photos of the fig… no doubt it will get worse the longer it’s owned and posed… :/

But enough about that!

The custom hairpiece is veeeery thin, but cleanly molded inside and out (though a bit dusty out of the package)! You can see light coming through it on the top of the element and light shines right through the plastic where the stud inset is. So it makes me a little nervous about the longevity of the element… but I promise I’ll be gentle with it in the meantime.

But with all that said of course that means (you guessed it) leaves the hair quite loose on the final fig and it spins around the head almost a little too easily. Though it doesn’t fall off unless you really give the fig a good shake.

I really don’t have too much more to say about the fig though. I would have liked to see perhaps another expression on the other side of the head… maybe a change to the side torso prints to something a little less scrape-able (like print on a white torso or something) …but yeah. It’s good quality, priced around $80, and was shipped out and received within two months of me placing the order (which honestly deserves the highest praise for such a quick turn around!)

Wow, look at me getting an entire review smooshed into just one post! Good job Andrew!
