L1n6 Minifigures Classic Iron Man Pair Review! (Patreon)

Hey cool, my latest L1N6 figs are here!

A pretty cool pair of figs based around an old AStarBricks design who are sadly no longer making figs. But let’s not dwell on the past, let’s check out these killer new figs!

First impressions of the final product are positive! There’s a nice shiny application of the drum lacquer silver and gold. They are great, and at a great price point. $110 for both plus shipping is a pretty solid deal these days for custom minifigs!

Of course I can really get to far into the review without talking about AStarBricks and their original fig. To the best of my understanding, L1n6 got the go-ahead to use ASB’s basic design for that helmet, and loose design for the print. I’m sure from L1n6’s perspective, a single black ink PAD Print and a minor design touch up was a steal!

Not that I’m complaining about other designers' integrity, I still get two cool custom figs out of the deal, so I’m happy with whatever the two worked out!

Now compared to ASB’s original yellow decal-based custom, these two are miles ahead in terms of quality, but those yellow hands! Why the yellow hands?! We’ve seen L1N6 produce figures in the past with the drum lacquered hands, so why didn’t it happen with these two figs? It’s a huge detractor… in the end I swapped out the hands for pearl gold and flat silver before I was even done reviewing the damn things.

Before I get too much farther I’m gonna be pretty straight forward with this review. Mostly because there’s not much to praise or deprive (other than those yellow hands I guess). They’re more or less upgraded color variants of a fig I’ve already talked about back in 2019

The print quality is good, the molded parts are solid, and the price point was decent like I mentioned earlier. With a preorder that started in late August, the five month waiting time doesn’t personally feel that worth it. Of course I say that coming from a guy that already has a handful of other Classic First & Second Appearance Iron Men like this.

Idk they’re cool, the packaging is excessive, they come with zero accessories, and perhaps they’re just not in the Marvel season with everyone talking about Moon Knight, Wanda, Spider-Man, and Dr Strange right now

*shrug*

But hey, I still like ‘em! They’re not high on my list, but they’re not the worst figs either! They just sit right in that sweet spot of “Yeah man, these are cool and I’m glad to own them”
