Jaka's Amazing Garfield Spider-Man Review! (Patreon)

Man, Jaka really killed it with this fig holy smokes! I was genuinely blown away when I opened up this little box! Just… wow! Look at it! The reflective line work is so good and those texture dots all over this figure are clean as a hell! Damn!

Incredible stuff!

So let’s just jump into it shall we? The black layering over the silver webbing really brings a depth to this fig’s design that’s just SO good! You can really see implementation on the back of the masked head the best, but man is it cool! The black layer forces your eye to intentionally see a centered perspective that draws out a shading to the flat surface! Really cool stuff!

Oh and don’t even get me started on that blue texturing! It’s spaced well, and a dark color that frankly is some of the best texture work we’ve seen since PCB’s original Rami Spider-Man figs! 

Now with the amount of just flat out fantastic print work here, it makes the plain red hands stick out quite a lot… you can also say the same thing goes with the sides of the head. Neither of those areas need print (nor are they commonly printed areas), but my brain wants printing to be there! Funny how that messes with your head, isn’t it!

I also feel inclined to mention there is no dual molding involved with this fig’s legs, so the bottoms of the feet are plain dark blue. Not that it’s too noticeable… but when you’ve got the fig in some killer spider-poses, it sticks out a bit.

The secondary Peter Parker head is nice. A bit simple, but gets the likeness close enough, more so with the damaged/scarred up side. Strangely though (because we all know Jaka loves their bonus expression heads) I’m a bit surprised we didn’t also get a head with smirking/smiling or a sad/crying expression. It’s a bit of a missed opportunity to really nail this as a the perfect completionist “Garfield Spider-Pack” but what we got here was still perfectly fine!

The hair is neat too! Although I don’t think it personally has the height I would expect when I think of Garfield’s hair in the movie. I really do like it, and it’s a nicely made custom part, though some spiky dark brown hair would have also been just fine. Perhaps it would have even cut the cost down a little?

You can see here that when you’re swapping hair and heads around with others from PCB & Lego Official figs , there’s some various combos that get pretty close and pretty far from an accurate likeness. I quite like the Custom Jaka hair paired with the Queer Eye Antoni head myself!

All in all it’s a killer fig! I mean come on! The crispness of this fig alone dude… it’s damn close to Christo and PCB level stuff man. I mean just look at that wraparound shoulder print over those arms! Wow!

Not only is the quality of the print just incredible, but with the design translation being so well matched… I could die happy. This is the perfect Garfield Spider-Man!
