Well all be damned! A big brand customizer put out a figure without a preorder! I’m shocked! Impressed even! It’s a great step forward in what could be the standard… *romantic sigh*

Now I’ll be honest, this one took me by surprise. I know that Jaka from time to time has reached back into older Marvel movies to make the occasional Thor figure or what have you, but most of the time they’re a very “current” brand with their figs. So this was an absolute treat to get dropped in our laps so quickly!

I ordered these two from my UK reseller in late September for about $133 (or $67~ per fig if you wanna look at it that way), and it was shipped out just DAYS later! Then finally it got to my door by mid October where the review process began just a few days after that! Such an incredibly short timeframe (given the current market) that you’d have expected Wolverine to have super speed!

They showed up in Jaka's nice new minimal packaging, and yet again I love it! Just the basics, yet still clean, streamlined, unique, and all that other crap. Nothing unnecessary, plus the figs arrive dust free! :)

This time (along with the standard metal collectors card), Jaka tossed in some die cut vinyl stickers of Logan himself and an Endgame Iron Man fig that I sadly missed out on… so… thanks for that reminder. Well at least now I have the sticker version to hold me over!

Of course I found it a bit strange just looking at that Logan sticker and the fig side by side because Logan’s hairpiece is brown… not grey like the sticker. I wonder what that’s all about? It’s a shame too because the piece itself is really nicely shaped and all (be it a little loose on some minifig heads), but Mr Hubert Jackman’s wig in the movie was nowhere close to this dark. I honestly think the sticker looks better …never thought I’d say that before…

As for the rest of the fig, it’s pretty simple actually. But in a good way! The torso and legs both are just plain enough to fit in with official Lego parts, but a step above your average Lego City minifigure with the wraparound arm and leg print. Jaka more or less fills in the blanks that our imagination usually does when you’re looking at official Minifigs.

Part of me wishes this fig didn’t look so clean though. With Jaka’s Punisher from a while back, that fig looked hella scrappy, whereas Logan here has just the scruffy lookin head. Those clothes of his look like they came straight from the laundry machine.

Now we've seen Jaka send out figs with multiple torsos before, and with a simple fig like this, it's a shame they excluded a second dirty/bloody torso for him to really match the aesthetic of the film.

But enough about Wolverine! Lets pivot a little and take a look at X-23!

She's a downright perfect fig (mostly)! Jaka couldn’t have nailed the Movie-To-Lego look better than this! The torso is simple but not too simple. There's a little bit of arm printing, a little bit of extra leg printing. The only thing I could critique about the design is that there’s nothing on the sides of the torso. Not that it really needed it, but just a little bit of grey along the sides would have really completed the short jean jacket look

However this fig falls short a teeeeeeny bit becasue her custom hair being SUPER tight. It took me a solid five minutes of just wigglin that head around on a torso peg to try and remove it. Despite how well it’s molded (shape-wise), it’s a bit too snug for my taste. Especially when in contrast to the loose wrong-colored hair for Logan…

Okay okay okay okay okay! Fine! I hear you! I get it! I’ll talk about the claws already! ...Gosh!

Of course the biggest concern going into this review for me were those fuckin cool ass claw hands! I mean look at those! I’d buy 20 of those in different colors to swap out for all my current Wolverines! I was genuinely impressed with these!

Looking at the four hands under a microscope, the entire hand piece is a custom element. The claws are smartly molded into the entire part rather than just glued on to existing hands like some other (cheaper) brands would do.

Shockingly, these little tiny claws are very strong against some moderate stress testing. I’m not gonna go crazy and accidentally break them, but when porting them around to different arms,I don’t feel like I’m going to break them at any point. Not only that, but I prefer these soooo much better than Crosscheck’s recent Wolverine claws that attach at the wrist.

They’re sturdy little parts and I want a bunch more of ‘em! You hear me Jaka?!

Get into the custom part making business and just stop selling figs! You can just make these claws and retire! I want them in so many other colors like blue, brown, black, and so on! I’m telling you! These things are so nice I’d buy tons of them just to give to the rest of my Wolverine figs!

Buuuuut if nothing else, I hope Jaka will make more Wolverine figs with these hands! I just want tons of them! Please please please please please! Take my money!

Okay that’s enough begging, we’re done here
