Young Indiana Jones! (Patreon)

These were a fun dive into Indy lore! :)

Yet again, I've been messing around in my spare time between reviews and threw together these two shots, based on the episodes "Mystery of The Blues" and "Curse of the Jackal (or "My First Adventure" depending on the version you're watching)

Rewatching the show on streaming has been really messing with me. Back in the day I had watched the original run with Old Indy bookend-ing the stories. But now with all the Old Indy scenes cut out from the version on Disney+, it’s been really weird to wrap my head around the show again.

After some deep diving, apparently this restructuring of the show for video release was planned towards the end of the show’s filming of the series. Hence all the considerable jump in age skip Corey Carrier has during the filler scenes in the middle of episodes.

It genuinely shocked me seeing these scenes for the first time. They’re charming in their own right, but it makes me wonder why D+ decided to stick with this “made for VHS” version and not the original.

Makes ya wonder if they even planned to have Indy lose an eye in the new movie 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've got some other ideas for more Young Indy shots, but also think I should probably try to tackle scenes from the main line movies too (despite how much I love this old series). So being torn between the more popular option vs the more creatively engaging option, I think I should maybe at least tackle at some Temple of Doom stuff next(?)

But damn, building a Poncho Villa scene sounds fun toooo (I’m so torn! I guess it’ll depend on the parts!)

idk we shall see! This whole thing has just been a sort of "go where the wind takes me" situation, and I'm having a ton of fun with it :)
