Hey look what showed up! Another Spider-Man! And look at the packaging! How neat!

JinCustoms is nothing short of a passionate designer! From the box, to the final product, you can see there was a lot of time and affection given to this fig! However I should point out that the art here on the tin is overlaid with Jin’s own fig. The original piece was by Paul Lee (I believe) and featured as a Lego VIP poster giveaway when the Daily Bugle set was released a few years back

(I’m intentionally being vague because I can’t source the official artist here but lord knows I tried to do my homework!)

All that said, Jin’s artistic fig fits right into that style though and looks great even if they did use stolen art to give it some pizazz

But leave it to Jin to come up with yet another genius concept for a custom fig and really run with it! For being "yet another Spider-Fig" it's got some new flavor I haven't see before. The design itself has a weird sudo Steve Ditko and Todd MacFarlane hybrid style. Perhaps it's intentional so that it’s not a specific version of Spidey? But rather a vibe of retroactive “what we all remember Spidy looking like”

Jin also produced a couple other figs in this high-contrast art style (an Iron Man and a Wolverine) that I sadly had to pass on because Jin doesn't know when to take a break between releases and I am struggling to keep up with their releases!

But here they are for the sake of comparison (and maybe for my own piece of mind knowing that I may never get to review these two)

But I’m beating around the bush here! Let’s talk about this fig right here! Mister The Spider-Man!

The print quality is just outstanding! Every fiber of web that wraps around every single limb is just expertly applied! Around the wrists and the toes are especially impressive if you're familiar with how PAD Printing mechanics work!

I also really love the sharpness of those teeny little hashing lines that border the blue and blue on the torso. They look like hand drawn illustrator shading tricks that Jin captured beautifully in plastic form!

Even the colors are sharp!

All the blue on the torso and arms you see is printed, and it matches really well with the dual-molded legs Jin printed over! There’s no strong hints of red from under that bright blue tone! Even the white eyes on the head are bright and crisp!

Speaking of the head, this is my second ball-jointed poseable head from Jin and I’m happy to say that it’s not an alternate print like the last time!

I really liked the concept of the ball joint head but that Sandman had a few to many problems for me. For starters, the head was too loose on the joint and it didn’t stay posed easily. Not only that, but the custom printed angry expression was element-locked to the ball joint head and not included as a standard head

However this fig doesn't suffer from either of those downsides! It’s nice and snug and holds it’s position well in any pose!

The other big seller for this fig come in the form of web wings!

Again they’re Ditko/MacFarlane inspired and are a neat concept transposed into minifig context! They connect with magnets in the arms to hold them in place (magnets that are so tightly inserted into the arms that I was unable to remove them from the sockets to swap with other figs) - (the magnet in the torso however is easily removable)

That’s not a total bummer for me personally though! You all know I don't like popping arms out of expensive figs to risk cracking torsos, but there’s no way around it this time even if you could get those magnets out!

The longevity of the fig from a reseller standpoint isn’t as high as others, but the poses you can get him in for photographs are endless!

Lastly Jin tossed in some bonus lil glove… things. Possibly leftover from a previous project like their other Spider-figs they’ve done? Or maybe they're prototype elements for the Andrew Garfield Peter Parker they’ve made that I haven’t received yet 🤷🏻‍♂️

All in all though, wow! And for just $100 too!

Jin is really catching my attention and I’m excited to keep on collecting some of their weirder figs! Here’s hoping they don’t bite off more than they can chew with all the preorders they keep announcing though!

At the time of writing this review, they have over fifteen different pre-order items for purchase on BabyBrick’s website, all while promising two full series of figs from GOTG and Spider-Verse! That's crazy!

But only time will tell how long it will take to get them to get all these figs to the people!

That… and how many others I won’t be able to afford 😞
