So we’re really still riding out this Indiana Jones phase, eh? The new movie came out what, three or four months ago now?

…and… we’re still doing this?

Finally coming at you guys with some Temple of Doom content, and more specifically a scene that is notoriously famous for being a bit dumb :)

A big goal of mine with this image was to be looking up at the falling crash from the ground, so looking up from the bottoms of trees was a weird challenge to approach. I think the final shot sort of captured that vibe in a similar way, but not as clear or as dramatic as the original concept was intended to be.

Originally I planned this shot to have trees framing the entire bottom half of the image as you can see here in this lighting test shot. I even built a moveable U-Shaped rig, but the thing was so finicky that I ended up abandoning it for more of a gravity friendly solution

I also tried to incorporate Lao Che’s plane into the shots but the micro build was too big to fit properly in frame without making the mountains look small.

In post production it sorta worked where I blurred it to high hell, but I’m not feeling it for the final public post :/

All in all, it was a bit of a pain to photograph and edit, but I still had a fun time with it :)
