It’s that time again for another Wolverine fig review!

I’ll be honest, Crosscheck actually  impressed me with this one! There’s some nice quality stuff behind this fig! Well… except for those claws getting squashed in the clamshell 😑

But it’s a solid fig!

The design for this one is really nice coming from Crosscheck! I feel like in the years past, CC’s "out-there" designs are usually what let me down, but not this time! The amount of clean detail work on this fig is so impressive! From the microscopic linework on the undershirt, the clean plaid, the details in the belt buckle! Nothing is too over done and it’s allllll good! (well, minus the color matching of the skin tone but I’m willing to overlook that)

Just lookit those little beautiful dirt/scuff marks all over the leather jacket! :)

The legs are very minimal, with only some faint side and back printing, but I think that really helps the overall design of the fig! It keeps most of the attention on the upper body of the torso and it doesn’t take your eyes away from where they should be.

I’m lookin at you Daredevil 👀

It’s funny, while ogling this fig, I thought I may have gotten a misprint, as the right arm is missing black outer lines on one of the stripes, but I looked into it and shockingly it’s supposed to look like that!

The costume looks intentionally designed as if it was ripped off or something, and it’s a fainter color than the other stripes. It’s a detail I’ve never noticed in the twenty-some years that movie’s been out! So some serious kudos to Crosscheck for psyching me out like that! :P

The facial design for this fig is really nice too! The subtle grey in the chops look great! Plus the biggest success comes from just how Lego-like the two expressions are! The eyes aren't weird colors, the proportions are all correct! Really good stuff!

The shaping of the hairpiece is really great! Easily my favorite aspect of the fig! The sideburns aren’t too thick, the points aren’t too tall like last time (he says again, linking to one of the worst Wolverine figs he’s ever reviewed)

Those little tufts of hair hanging down above the eyes are just soooo good though! However it should be worth mentioning that I do feel like it should have been dark brown. More accurate to the source material and all that…

Buuuuut at the same time (man I’m so indecisive) getting it in black here does allow us to use it on some fun comic figs so that’s nice 🤷🏻‍♂️

Even just using this fig in comic-context works really well too!

Oh, and here’s a hair swap, because I know somebody will want to see this…

All in all, $100 for what’s nearly a perfect figure if they didn’t pack those claws so tight! It took me only a few seconds to swap them out for Jaka’s and make this grizzled older Logan fig!

…man I want more Jaka Wolverine claws… 😔
