The light spell has a rider near the bottom of the spell (per AoN) that says you can attatch the light orb or detach the orb to a creature as part of the action used to move the orb. I would rule as a GM you could do it to a weapon in this case, but thats me. But yeah, you can attatch the light to creatures at the very least.
