A Quick Dip - Part 01 (Patreon)

Warm air washed across the ground sending her lawn into a delightful dance. Each blade sliding across one another like fish in a school. A smile crept along her face as the lacey hem of her dress was sent rippling across her bare thighs.
Lifting her glass, sunlight glinting off the water inside, she relished the relative calm. The lighting kit was stacked on the porch behind her, the agency had mounted the retractable outdoor green screen to the garden wall. Pausing, Mira noted plaster, discarded wire coating, and other detritus littering the gravel along its base.
Narrowing her gaze, she folded her arm beneath her prodigious chest. Marching part way through the lawn towards the mess. “Hey Mira!”
The sardonic soprano cut through her, water catching at the back of her throat. Turning, Mira watched its owner descend into the garden. The twenty something wore a pair of skimpy denim shorts and a black tank. Some silly Zombie movie poster screened on the chest. Choking down the remainder of her sip, Mira nodded towards the approaching girl. “What’s up Aubrey?”
The girl forced her head forward, shrugging slightly. “What are we doing, I thought we had a stream today?” The girl looked up into her eyes, Aubrey’s chestnut-coloured irises were cold, detached.
Rolling her own, Mira shrugged. “I’m working on it. The sponsor for today fell through. We can't stream their game anymore.” Shifting her weight, she looked her assistant up and down. “Give me a minute to come up with something Else.”
The girl rolled her eyes. “Can we speed it up though? We got your green screen installed, had the props delivered, got a 24-hour license for the KPop Demon Hunters song and I budgeted four hours for stream-casting today. We’re already an hour in, and your audience is getting restless.”
“Easy girl, what’s gotten into you?” Mira said, narrowing her gaze. “The agency left a mess, first of all. And let’s not forget you’re new to this team. We have a flow.”
Letting out a silent, heavy sigh, Aubrey shook her head. “A flow that isn’t working… That’s why Nicole sent me over to you.”
Bristling, Mira groaned. “Well, Wunderkind, if you have a suggestion, I’m all ears.”
Aubrey held out her hands, stabbing the palm of her hand with her index finger while counting. Each strike more violent than the last. “Drama farm? Review? A hot tub stream? Stream in a wet t-shirt? Anything at this point.” The smug little bint was glowering at her, bile poisoning each word she spat.
“Whatever you might think of me, Aubrey…” Mira chuckled. “I don’t do those kinds of streams.”
