The voice shook her, and the dream shimmered once again. Whipping around, she saw Noel, still seated, with her hand still in place angled towards the parasail. Her face, however, was turned towards her. 

“Wait, how are you…” Noel shifted and moved like a river breaking through a dam, undulating and shifting in a manner she couldn’t quite describe. In a flash, her fingers were jammed into Zoey’s lips. 

Her hand’s were warm, and Zoey felt herself melt at the touch. “Oooh, still a little girl playing at being grownup huh?” The words stung, and she lowered her hands nervously to the hem of her skirt. Wringing the fabric, she felt the threads bite into the soft flesh of her fingers.

She blinked, looking down at her outfit. Gone was the life jacket and “cute” swimsuit she’d selected for the trip, in it’s place was the outfit she’d been wearing before her late night nap.Zoey tensed as she could see Noel reaching out towards her...
