audio fades into the sounds of a pool, before interrupted by the sound of a door opening

(Polaris opens the door of their pool house, revealing a particular pool toy they’d been searching for)

“Ah! There you are! I wasn’t sure if you’d still be here, I told you you were welcome to join me indoors, you don’t have to stay here in the pool house.”

“Though, saying that, you’ve really made yourself at home here. Is that where you sleep? Well, I’m glad that old dog bed found some use.”

…

“Anyways, I’ve got some friends coming over tomorrow, it’s gonna be a pool party. Did you want to join in? I know it’s had to have been a while since you’ve been used.”

…

“I knew you’d want in on the fun~”

“But first, if you intend to let people ride you, I need to check you for leaks and such. You do look a bit deflated, to be perfectly honest. Do you mind if I look you over for a bit?

…

“Thanks! I’ll try to be gentle, though, from what I’ve heard, you pooltoys are made to be pretty sturdy. What did that article say, something about being able to stretch up to three times your original dimensions or something? Pretty impressive stuff.”

“Anyways, don’t mind if I just…”

from this point forward there is the intermittent squeak of vinyl until otherwise specified

(Polaris grabs the viewer and begins looking them over)

…

“Well, this seam on your back looks fine, let’s move on to your tail…”

…

“Hmm… yep, no problem here from what I can see…”

…

“Your belly looks fine too, mind me take a look at your face?”

“Thanks.”

…

“Hmm… no, nothing wrong here, just as cute as when I got’chu~”

“Let me see about your paws.”

…

the sounds of squeaky vinyl stop

“Ahh… now there’s something. It’s gotta be pretty small, but here on your paw seems to be where you’re the most deflated. I should be able to locate exactly where the air is escaping by applying some pressure.”

the sound of air being forced out of an opening emanates from the viewer

(Polaris gently squeeze the paw of the viewer and some air escapes)

“Found it!”

“Here, I’ll mark it real quick with a pen, I always keep one on me.”

the sound of a pen cap being removed follows

(Polaris takes a pen out of their pocket, removes the cap, and circles the leak)

“Alright. I should have some silicon adhesives laying around here somewhere, they should keep from deflating even more, at least until I can get you to a professional.”

…

some sounds of rummaging and mumbling ensue

(Polaris looks around, opening drawers and tossing objects, trying to locate the silicon pads. Eventually, they find them)

“Ah… here we are!”

“Let me just peel one off and…”

…

the sound of adhesive being pulled like tape is heard, followed by the gentle sticking noise of it being applied

(Polaris peels off the back of the adhesive pad and applies it on the leak)

“There! Good as new! Well, for now. I’ll schedule an appointment with a specialist to give you a real fixing, but until then, this’ll have to do.”

“But, now that that’s all well and good, let’s work on pumping you back up, ey?”

“I think I remember having a big cylinder of compressed air somewhere in here for situations just like this… give me a moment…”

There is some more rummaging and mumbling, followed by the squeaky wheels of a dolly and the bassy thump of a metal cylinder hitting the ground

(Polaris looks around once more, making a ruckus before finally finding the canister and rolling it out beside the viewer)

…

“Now, it’s a bit dusty… and rusty… but it should do the trick just fine. I rarely ever have to use this bad boy, so I’m sure it’s plenty full on air, more than enough to fill you back up, at least.”

“First I need to hook you up though, I have a hose right here. Shouldn’t be all too uncomfortable, but… uh… may I?”

…

“Ok… I- I’m gonna open your blowhole then, t-thank you for… uh, letting me.

…

there is a short lived sound of air escaping the viewer again before it’s interrupted by the blowhole being plugged

(Polaris opens the viewers blowhole and quickly stuffs the tapered end of the tube into it)

“Annnd, there. You’re connected. The hose seems secure. At least, pulling on it doesn’t seem to make it wanna come loose.”

…

“You ready?”

“Ok, I’ll open the valve now. If you ever feel like it’s too much pressure just let me know and I’ll adjust it until it’s comfortable.”

…

there is the squeak of a rusty valve followed by the sound of releasing pressure, continuing until otherwise specified

(Polaris turns the valve of the gas cylinder and watches as the viewer begins to reinflate)

…

“What’s up?”

“Oh? Too much pressure? Ok, I’ll turn it down.”

the sound of metal snapping reverberates through the room

(As Polaris applies pressure to rusted valve in an attempt to adjust its flow, the gasket snaps off)

“Oh. Oh that’s not good.”

…

“D-don’t panic! It’s ok! I should have known better than to use this rusty old thing.”

”Here, I’ll just disconnect the hose from you…”

…

the sound of pressurized air is soon accompanied by those of rubbing against stretched vinyl

“It’s- it’s not budging! I must have done something wrong, why won’t it move?

“It’s fine! This is fine… I did say you pooltoys were stretchy, no?

…

“Y-yeah, fair point, would rather not risk it. I’ll keep trying to pull the hose out, but it’s really lodged in there…”

…

from the point forward until otherwise specified the sound of a balloon expanding progressively becomes more prominent

(The viewer begins overinflating, expanding beyond their normal dimensions)

“Come on, why won’t it budg- uh… wait, hey, you’re getting, a little… big. Bigger than just a few seconds ago, that’s for sure.”

“It’s ok, I’ll keep trying, I’ll get the nozzle out… eventually… but I’m running out of room to work!”

…

“Uh… ah! I barely even have enough space to pull on the hose, you’re gonna smother mhhh!!!”

Polaris emits a few muffled complaints

(Polaris is smothered underneath the ever expanding viewer, issuing an onslaught of complaints)

…

Polaris gasp

(Polaris gasp, trying to catch their breath as they climb out from under the sea of vinyl)

“You’re smothering me-! And I-!”

“I- I can’t reach… the nozzle… ah-!”

“S-sorry, at least… the pressure… is…”

“I- I don’t think I can stay up for much longer, I’m… trapped… undenernehhmmm…!”

Polaris emits a few more muffled complaints before going silent, the sound of rubbing vinyl stops

(Polaris is once again smothered)

…

the tension is broken as the sound of releasing pressure slows and then stops

there is one more series of rubber squeaks followed by a series of gasp

(Polaris struggles their way out from under the viewer, gasping and regaining their breath)

…

“Is… is it over?”

“That… that could have gone much worse had the tank had any more air in it, for the both of us…”

…

“Are you alright…?”

…

“Uh… yeah, that’s about what I was expecting you’d say.”

…

“I think I’ll go grab some pipe cutters for the hose, I’m sure I have some scattered amongst everything here.”

following is yet another series of squeaks from that of stretched vinyl

(Polaris attempts to escape from under the viewer but cannot overcome the pressure pinning their lower body underneath them)

“Uh…”

“Actually, I… can’t move.”

“You have me pinned…”

audio fades out
