Riize is just very shy in general because they’re rookies and haven’t had much experience in variety shows (I love them still 🫶🏼) They’re kinda a bunch of mostly introverts playing well among themselves but getting awkward with strangers 😅

also I feel like the foreign line in RIIZE (shotaro and anton) probably have more exposure to / are less sheltered from these kind of things compared to other members (you can see from their reaction when they first saw the show and wanted to convince the group to join!)

As far as i know , koreans slowly accepting gay people but still not like on mainstream / public broadcast like kbs or sbs. Hong seok cheon is publicly gay since in early 2000 (mind u hes in his 50s) , hes kinda banned earlier when hes coming out but later people accept him but all in all , korea pretty much still conservative till this day.

regarding chemi names (in terms of zb1) alot of the time its the romanization of their korean chemi names, so for example: bbangiz 빵이즈 (taerae & matthew) is basically 02z because they were both born in 2002! and usually these chemi names arent decided by one person...its like a collective agreement by the fans? its usually from one/a few iconic moment(s) between the two members that define their friendship! so for zb1, alot if not most of their chemi names were created/brought over from boys planet era/early debut era (tldr, when fans first got to know them and their personalities) tbh i definitely get the confusion and why it can seem unnecessary and "too much" but the whole chemi name thing originated from kfans, so there will be korean word play/inside jokes that ifans wont get (understandable) this also explains why alot of these chemi names have a 'z' at the end, its not a random 'z'! its the romanized version of the word '즈‘ but that also just means as ifans, we're not obligated to use them anyways! at the end of the day simply calling them by their names should be enough🙂‍↕️👍🏻

I think in general RIIZE members are kinda shy still in general... the hosts actually toned down than usual (which i appreaciate since our boyss are so shy) I think my personal best ep of this show is Junyoung's ep... so funny

I recommend a documentary called "weekends" on gagaOOLala, It's about a gay Korean Choir in 2009, it talks about how they were treated by society and how they formed a community, comparing It to today I can definetely tell things have changed, even some people in the documentary now have couple youtube Channels ( mango couple TV ), I think it's getting better but Definitely It's still a really conservative country, so the path is still long For minorities

I don't think Shotaro was scouted trough tiktok, I think It was in instagram, he used to be an honorary EXPG student and he was quite famous among EXILE TRIBE fans cause he was a backup dancer of those groups, , he was known in IG and EXPG is a well known school of arts in japan so I don't think it's crazy for them to look trainees on EXPG page (that's my theory)

Firstly, their reaction to Riize is valid cause that literally would be. Also I need a sungchan drama (he's my ult and has been since nct introduction.). Second what you said about body proportions is true. Alot of companies look for certain body proportions and height when it comes to modeling. Third, I recommend the episode with the two male leads from "Hierarchy" because it was really fun and they were more comfortable as well.

Shotaro was scouted from his Instagram. He didn't make a TikTok until around late 2019. He's already auditioned and been accepted by then. People are saying he wasn't scouted from TikTok because it's impossible with his timeline.
