Semi Finals! Did the right group of girls make it to the finale??

PS. I'm trying this new feature where Patreon publishes the post while the video is still processing so if this uploads and you see it but it's not viewable yet, that means it's processing.

yup still in the lineup! i’m just trying to get through this one as the group is debuting soon.

Iman

idk if someone already said (im still watching the episode) but the reason the girls saw the footage of jiyoon ignoring jungeun is because the pre-recorded part 1 had already aired. (everything in part 2 is live)

From what i understand, Jeemin got intro and outro, plus only one line from the chorus. And in the one line, she doesn't shine much choreo-wise. That's why she got overshadowed. I might be wrong though. I'm watching this with you, but my biases are Fuko, Saebi and Gyuri. But atp I'm attached to all of them, i'm gonna cry regardless of the debut lineup.

I think Jungeun was super popular from the jump, but only internationally. If you looked at Twitter and tiktok she was really loved by basically every international watchers but not korean watchers (for bad reasons too). Which is why during part 2 It looked like she wasn’t popular since we only really saw what korean ppl thought but then when the voting with international fans came in she ended up high because she was like top 3 in popularity!

so as i'm rewatching with you, i checked snsd's performance of into the new world and literally the intro and the first part was 25 secs so like???

those mentors annoyed me with the latata presentation. i’m sorry wdym the leader should be the one to do the whole presentation? even in school with group presentations, you’re supposed to present as a group, not just one person. is it hard for them to understand that it’ll be easier for the person that came up with most of the ideas to present it? they honestly annoyed. they just pick on the smallest things like please rest maybe

no cause the whole 50 50 korean global thing annoys me a lot. like i get it’s KPOP but it’s unfair. one country getting 50%wa while over 200 countries getting that same 50% is just not fair, especially since these entertainments advertise their groups as global groups, so where is the value for the global demographic?

jeff dhsnsvshw “it makes sense she doesn’t have a last name” no but i’ve watched 3 survival shows (iland, boys planet and iland 2), and all the japanese contestants i can think of, they never used their surnames, it’s only their forenames 😭😭 i wonder why

I kinda of avoid talking on Jungeun's popularity until this episode just for your reaction! Little fyi at this point Jungeun is still not getting k-votes, but her i-votes have grown so much one reason being the fandom sees how low she placed for both vote-wise and producer score-wise. She simply shouldn't be placed so low due to how talented she is, so a lot of non-fans even voted. I will not speak too fast on her popularity since I don't think her core fandom is that strong yet. Not exactly the same analogy but she's similar to taerae who got the k-gp voting for him while she got the i-gp voting for her.

Hey Jeff, if you're interested I highly recommend watching the boy group formation show, Project 7. They're only 5 episodes in at the moment. The performances once they got to the first round of cover songs after the title track were so good for a first round and there's first rate visuals and some Peak Time contestants that compete as contestants in the show. But really the level before the first elimation is already so high. So good! If you don't want to watch the show you might consider reacting to the performances at least for the dance performances in round 1. There's so many diva personalities too, lol. You'd love it. Plus the audience forms the groups through voting after the first round.

morin

correct me if i am wrong but i think the dance practices did not exist on itnw era, idk who started it but in this era i don't think they have it yet

BZ

The MAMA awards is being held in both Japan and in LA. Izna, the name of this group, is performing at the LA MAMA awards show, so if you are watching the award shows, you will see their debut

moarmy

maybe coz their full name would be too long

Late reply here. The earliest dance practice video I can think of is TVXQ's Purple Line back in 2007. That was not an official one, it was like an SM internal video that TVXQ filmed for Lee Soo-man (not sure about this) and then the staff leaked it online or something like that. The trend started with Shinee, I believe, with the dance practice of the song "Lucifer" in 2010. Then other 2nd gen groups started to pick up, especially groups from smaller company like Sistar.
