SO FUN!!

I reacted to all performances except Naevis, dear alice, Bada's solo (I did do her other songs), Kangta's and SJ's cover near the end. If you see a performance not on here, it's really just for time constraints as the show is 5.5 hours long.

For SMTR25 Lucifer that's the original shinee recording, that's not the guys on stage, you can even hear Jonghyun.

jeffavenue

oh ya i realized when i was editing 😅

Amanda Bernström

Im so happy for JJ. Hopefully he will get to debut this time. He will obv be my bias

Marta Maimone

The new smtown album will be released in February for the 30th anniversary and contains all the covers that each artist and group has brought plus perhaps one new song.

Bad Boy, Sad Girl is Seulgi’s song, Sungchan covered BE’O’s rap part from original. Because of you is Minho’s song and it does feature Ningning in the original as well (one of my faves from Minho’s album!). Just answering but guessing you might already have looked this up!

Dani

Bad boy, sad girl is a b-side from Seulgi's solo album. Originally, BE'O is featured in this song. (Fun fact. Sungchan said they had little time to prepare it and the first time they sang it together was during the main rehearsal one day before the concert) Because of you is from Minho's latest album and Ningning is also featured in this song in the original

Ah, so that Super Junior M (the original Chinese Sub-unit) song you thought was originally Japanese was Chinese, which is why they performed the Korean Version. Zhoumi, the guy you thought gave of Bang Chan vibes, gave up a chance to perform his solo to have SJ-M perform. Basically, SM told him he'd have to reach out and make it happen, and all the SJ-M members agreed. Ryeowook is incredible live, and my favorite vocalist to listen to. So Cosmic, the duet with Bada was an SM Station song the two had collaborated on before Ryeowook went to the military. The reason the duet came about is that Ryeowook is a huge S.E.S and Bada fanboy and the two are super close now, she sang at his wedding. It's a shame you had to skip SJ's cover, the harmonies were absolutely stunning throughout. I laughed when you mentioned you watched through their ten-minute ment, Day 1 it was 1 minute and SM asked if SJ was upset cause they didn't talk much. I loved the 127 cover so much, you are absolutely right that that concept suited Mark so well. I loved getting to hear Jaehee and Kangta sing Polaris (a solo song from the latter). I almost wish they sung more together rather than separately like when Ryeowook sung it with Kangta at New Year's one. Seeing Dream and H.O.T together for Candy was awesome. That Show Me Your Love Stage (orig TVXQ and SJ) was so funny as you kept seeing how many people came out to perform that song. Kun and Ryeowook together were so cute, I'm glad they've gotten closer since that awkward plane ride.

Just wanted to say I’m listening (and watching) like a podcast while getting some work done! I’m so glad you reacted even tho it’s a long show. thank youuuu

eve_ss

I think it's either they're gonna be like NCT with different units OR they will be divided in 2-3 separate groups. I remember SM announcing before that with SM 3.0 they're planning to debut more groups every year like around 3 groups each per year. (Another theory that I have is maybe they're planning to have another like NCT Lastart survival show - but I really hope not because I want all them to debut now 🥹) I agree with you, SM is sh*t company, but their trainees are always on another level and they never disappoint 💯👌

jeffavenue

yess he’s so talented! and one day i need him to do a dance with shotaro 👏🏽👏🏽

jeffavenue

ooo thank u for watching/listening even though you’re workin!

jeffavenue

i heard also about a potential survival show. i guess we’ll see!

Dani

Red Velvet said they don't have much time to prepare for their Run Devil Run performance. Yeri has been busy with acting for the past few months and unfortunately they had trouble scheduling enough time for everyone to prepare for the performance, which is why they only performed in 3.

Hi Jeff! To shed more light on the situation about remaking Jonghyun's song, the criticism is more towards SM making money off it because they plan on releasing the remake on music platforms. Rights and profits of Jonghyun's music go fully towards his family and the Shiny Foundation, so SM does not really make anything (or much) from his music. Because of this, the company's intention is being questioned by fans. While some argue that remaking the song could be a tribute to Jonghyun's legacy and artistry, others feel it might come across as a commercial move. Although we do appreciate that it's BoA covering his song, whom he had a close relationship with.

Thank u Jeff I’m so excited to watch this, I’m going to my first smtown in May so this just makes me more excited haha

DorkyMint

Dream covering Love Me Right was a full circle moment for them bc they covered it predebut! While they slayed it! I wish they chosen Monster. I would love them to do a dark concept, esp since all members are older now & Jisung once expressed wanting to do a dark concept!

tada dadam

we’re gonna get all the covers as remakes officially, i can’t wait to add them in my playlist also, excited for your tds3 reaction too

Mimi

I really love that Riize sang live the whole time. They have gotten so much better at it

Mae Q

The SM boy trainees they showed for this show, at least for the main 9-11 boys that they kepe highlighting, I wonder if they'll also be part of the SMTown concert tour. When NCT were the SM Rookies 9-10 years ago, they were also part of each show in the tour, which was how NCT built up quite a fanbase even before they debuted.

Lisa

I loveeeeee SM FAM so muchhh im growing up with their song since snsd and obviously being a casual listener for all the artist as well STILL no other company can top their quality

jeffavenue

ahhh ok. thank u for shedding more light on this. i didn’t know there was gonna be an album until u guys mentioned it here. i think the tribute on the show is appropriate but yes i can see the concern for the recorded version to be released. not familiar with the shiny foundation but if this is jonghyun’s foundation he built, i feel that would be an appropriate destination for any profit made on the cover of his song.

jeffavenue

oooo good question! that’ll be cool!

Star Galaxy

I feel like you would like Ryeowook's solo music.

Star Galaxy

Are you going to SMTown in LA?

Amimej

Suho's amazing!  He's a musical actor who totally killed it and won a Daesang for The Man Who Laughs, undoubtedly he has power vocal range.  Unfortunately he's often overlooked or underrated.  Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of his musicals (The Man Who Laughs, Mozart) there's some live clip of these on Youtube. His new k-drama is Missing Crown Prince.  His OSTs are fire too, especially "Forever" ( in full English) and "Love You More Gradually."  Thank you, Filipina here...

kevy veldez

Get feeling better soon to Key.

Maya

yes

YordankaVo

Thank you for this video, Jeff! I wanna brag for my man Suho, can I? I am so so proud of EXO's performance of "Git It Up", I can watch it 20 times in row. The original song is by H.O.T and I watched the og video before SMTOWN. It is so strange, man. I can't lie, I was worried how EXO gonna do it. But EXO-sC ATE!!! They (and TVXQ) were my highlight of the event. My jaw dropped when I saw Suho in this leather outfit and... Like genZ say mowadays "I wanna tattoo it in my brain" Oh, man... I think some of SMTR25 will be in the boy group which will debut in the second half of the year and the rest of the boys will debut in 2026, just my opinion. Also, have you watch MYTRO's ""Bomb bomb bomb" performance video? Shohei is the leader and I can't wait for them to debut in February, out pioneers, our trot-idols. :) btw, I think you'll like today's performance of dearALICE on M Countdown. The song is good, boys are cute and the choreo is very k-popish. ;)

lil

i just love that Chenle and Jaemin were the last to leave the stage and took care of the fans💚💚💚 it reminds me of tds3 🥹💚

airpodbaek

the trainees were NOT singing the song lol. that was Lucifer by shinee and growl by exo

Paming

If you want the live version for Riize's Hug, you can watch their Mcountdown stage. So good!

jeffavenue

bahaha i realized that during edit. but i do hope they’re gonna be as vocally talented as their seniors!

jeffavenue

nope. i think im gonna try to catch them next time in korea. i had so much fun last time. the experience felt so surreal

Atikah

I just love how mad 127 get when its Fact check 🤣

Sidharth (시드하르트)

Hi Jeff, thank you for reacting to SMTown 2025. Despite my love-hate relationship with SM Ent, I am thrilled to be a part of the SM family. I simply adore their artists and the family they have built over the years. S.E.S. is the 1st generation of girl group in SM Ent. And yes, they were the original singers of that song. They are made up of three people, including Bada, who sings alongside Karina and Winter. Bada's vocals are well-known, and since Aespa's debut, Ningning has been referred to as "Little Bada" due to the fact that her singing style is similar to Bada's. Additionally, if you have watched Penthouse Season 1, Bada has a cameo in that show; also, another member of S.E.S. was one of the main characters in that show. Her name is Eugene, and her character name was Oh Yeon-Hee.

Atikah

Thank you reacting to this 🎈 at least i get to be excited about these with someone :)

LiveLaughLoveZonZon

Will you be reacting to NCT127’s concert? It’s INCREDIBLE!
