EDIT: Hey guys, I was able to find a way to get this up on Youtube (with a big ass copyright sign) so if you subscribed specifically for this and wouldn't have minded the sign on top of the footage, you can DM me for a refund. Thanks! Note: This offer is valid only until May 7th. Your account will be subject to review to check validity of subscription date.

This unedited version will remain up for those that hate the copyright logo.

You guys can download or stream the video in the link above. I ran out of storage here on Patreon so I'm waiting for the increase from Support. I will edit it in here once they respond to me.

Idk why this was blocked seeing everyone has theirs up. It's saying I used the Broadcast version which is basically used on Music Show copyrights. But I didn't so I'm confused. I even tried screen recording another reactor's footage and it still didn't work. I've been trying to figure it out for 3 hours so fuck this it's going here on Patreon lol. I'll try to release a Shorts version this weekend.

i can tell how shocked you were by seeing how you mixed up dani and lara😂 (dani is the one who did the tounge on her teeth thingy)

oh this song is something... ngl a bit disappointing but hear me out🤣 the beat is PERFECT!!! amazing it has so much potential and it's so neo, girls ate the chores (it has some awkward parts but overall it did more justice to the song), rap is not rapping I felt like it was just talking over a beat and it wasn't done well (my girls should stick to vocals since they are amazing vocally) BUT THE LYRICS is straight up shit imo like okay the pre chorus and chorus are fine (bag of Taki's is not fine😭) but especially the verses are not it... girls do really bring the energy the song have/should have but the lyrics and verses are s distracting that that's the main reason why ppl hate this comeback like not a single comment on this song was hating on the girls they hated the lyrics (clean version is a bit better but still the verses ain't it for me, the chorus however is already stuck in my head)

Dom

oh you have to react to the music show performances (if you haven’t already seen them) the views are going crazy! the mcountdown performance is at 1.6m views and it’s been under 2 days. Dani’s fancam has also been going viral. The girls, and Dani especially, have been receiving so much love from the korean fan base. They really thrive performing this song, and somehow they’ve improved each performance. Like you said, you can tell they’re enjoying it. Also, the clean version of the song is a bit better lol

FroggyMuds

I gotta say, I was rlly put off by the song at first but the performance sold me. I'm a fan of experimental music so I grew to rlly like the pre chorus and chorus. The verses are still a bit iffy to me but I like the performance so much that I can look past it. They rlly committed to the acting and it's rlly fun to watch

I have a lot to say so I apologize already 😭🩷 I'll just say all of my thoughts but I hope they'll make sense 🥲 I hope no one misunderstands because beautiful and powerful women will always have my support no matter what 🙌🏻 I don't know how much you saw but a reason why people compared this to sticker was because they think that some kpop stans like "weird" songs only when boy groups do them. I can't say that misogynistic stans don't exist, sadly they do but I want to believe that it's only a small percentage. You can't say that every single person who liked sticker but disliked gnarly hates women that's dumb. I personally don't like either of them but I do prefer sticker for the things you mentioned too. Yes the flute bothers me but their vocals and rap are really good and they make the song catchy (tbh that applies for many nct songs 😭). As you said Katseye's voices get drowned almost throughout the whole song and that has been happening with other artists too lately.. Another thing that bothers me in general is when they sing-talk a lot or shout in songs like I really can't stand it and that's also the case for gnarly. I feel like it's something I could also do with a good guidance and production you know? 😭 Like the whole thing is giving advertisment or a tv show song. Of course the mv and perfomances matter a lot too, a fun/impressive choreo and good facial expressions can always help! In fact many people changed their opinions right after watching their studio choom and music show perfomances. Someone said that it seems like this song is meant to be performed, not heard. Well I also watched the first music show perfomance and I kinda agree. It's definitely fun for tiktoks too but that's it. I don't mind replaying touch, it's cute but gnarly? No thanks 🥲 For some people it's only the lyrics that they didn't like but I don't really care about the lyrics lol It's not like kpop songs always have meaningful lyrics either, they can be cringey too. I guess some people are just too lazy to look at the translations and that's why they haven't realized it yet. Some people said that it grew on them after a few or many listens. Well good for them but I don't want to stream a song for a whole day or week so I can convince myself I like it. I think some people are just too biased or afraid to say that they dislike a song. Hell no, it's okay if you don't like every single song your fave has released!! Don't let a random stranger on the internet tell you that you're a fake stan for doing that. Only your heart knows if you truly love an artist. Anyway that's just my opinion, no one has to agree! It's still just the beginning for the girls, I can see how talented and passionate they are and I'm sure thet they have a lot to offer us! I truly hope the best for them 🩷 Also I love how careless they are and the fact that they can do whatever they want with no limits 🫶🏻 You don't see that often! It actually makes me emotional to see a female Korean pop artist (Yoonchae) being so free :( Thanks if you made it till here, have a cookie~ 🍪

hi jeff!! omg don't worry about being confused and shook because literally everyone i know has been like "WTF" when they reacted to the MV and song for the first time. i REALLY wished that the lyrics were better... it feels like they just said "gnarly" like 100 times and added random short lines, mostly rapping/talking and no vocals. it's definitely a new angle... but i gotta say it's growing on me after a week... mainly because of their performances. their facial expressions, the choreo, their energy, and just looking SO good individually but also as a uniform group. i love this concept on them, i just wish they had more vocals and better lyrics for this song :)

Juicy

This song has literally become my hype my day up anthem lol. Love your reactions as always Jeff!!

S

The performance definitely won ppl over and I really only jam with the booty popping part the beats there are fire. I would hardly call those verses rap TT they’re just talking I can’t believe there’s a level below talk rap lol. I’ve seen fans rap over the beat and it’s actually fire so I’m not sure why they didn’t give them a full hype anthem with killer verses.

Sewshe Co

the korean audience is eating this song up in a good way, they're even charting on the melon hot 100 which is crazyyyyy, the fan chants on music core today were also SO good. They do the clean ver there and I love it just as much. the flip of the public was insane, its a hit imo.

Jee Emm

Literally gagged everyone, LOL. The girls had fun working on this song, and it shows. People are starting to get it, i guess. It’s charting on both global and US spotify already, so i guess Gnarly did what it's supposed to do, stirring the pot, haha. You should watch their music show performances if u still haven’t. They just have this incredible stage presence that i haven’t seen in a long time. The girls’ confidence and energy was off the charts entirely. They ate so hard. Gnarly is meant to be performed live!

Day

Yeah it’s easier to enjoy the song when you don’t understand the lyrics 😭

FroggyMuds

I mean a lot of the general Korean public don't like kpop music bc the lyrics are often nonsense so it's just the inverse of that 💀 kind of genius imo

roseoznz

Megan being trained as a jpop idol makes sooo much sense in light of her expressions which reminded me of Tsuki’s even before I learned about Megan’s background! Re: sticker comparisons it was less of the sound and more the reactions (I personally liked both after 1 listen to get me over the shock) that made me think of it 😂 I do feel like the cursing and stuff is kind of meant to set them apart as not actually a kpop group lol but yeah their presence is unmatched and totally sells this song imo I’m so curious what they do next!

jeffavenue

i’m gonna wait til the dance practice comes out before the music show stages 😁 i hope they drop it this coming week. they definitely stirred the pot!

jeffavenue

omg so true i was watching reactions from korean youtubers and they’re having so much fun with it! haha

jeffavenue

this is gonna slap at the gym! 🥳

jeffavenue

ya i agree they shouldve had at least a fire bridge with some melodic singing in there 😭

jeffavenue

thanks for clarifying about sticker! i didn’t read into it much to avoid spoilers. just saw some tweets but that’s it. i can’t wait to see the dance practice cause i have a feeling, based on everyone’s comments, that this is more so a dance piece meant to be performed live.

jeffavenue

there’s a clean version? is it like a different beat/lyrics? clean version usually is just no swearing

jeffavenue

bahaha i barely even paid attention to the lyrics cause im not used to english songs anymore they just fly over my head 😂

Dom

there’s different lyrics. they take out the swearing and the brand names. the new lyrics, in the chorus especially, are way better

Alyssa

Hi Jeff, saw that they just released a dance practice! Hope you get to react as well 💜

Pratiksha Majee

It does grow on people. When I first listened to it , i was like WTF, then i kept seeing the chorus dance challenges and I liked it, got obsessed with the dance challenge reels, then I tried to listen to the song without the performance, couldn't listen to it, then I listened to it while watching the performance and maybe coz I was more focused on the choreo than the song I liked it and now I am just having fun with the son..It's a really cool, f*ck all song, it's fun, it's free, it's like a satire and sometimes u just gotta have fun and not be stressed about vocals.

Maria Elena Feliz

They really came strong with the new release Gabriela (please watch the music video and the performance video I was MESMERISED) However, this song really grows on you because of the choreo and also other than mocking the haters I think this was a good marketing strategy for the newer releases so yeah Katseye is amazing haha
