What do you guys think of the Leader's choreo?? Kpop mission next ep!

PS. Sorry this is a bit late than normal. I had 2 auditions to film yesterday so I filmed at night and then just edited it today.

I also agree that the leader's choreo wasn't the best and probably my least favorite among the seasons. I do think the song choice played a huge part in this. When you look at hey mama or smoke, they are songs that require more energy and hype. This one just feels dead in a way. The rookie class, on the other hand, even though the song is pretty or calls for soft or joyful notes, still has the edge and hook needed to make it viral. The leader's choreo did not go viral and I'm barely seeing any tiktok about it. I think mnet did a terrible job with choosing this song as the leader's song.

I agree that the leader’s song was my least favorite of the three

Leaders class for me gave all the elements: -Everyone had they're moments (whether they took advantage of the moment they're given is a different story) -The choreo ate (it's so vibey and for how difficult it is, it looked cool and easy and if I were to do a DC, i'd want to look cool) -Diverse and creative (Rie kept her word and made everyone look cool by giving the others their moments using their own style/ duos section was fire) -Storyline (the concept was and story was clear) PS: I saw a comment on tiktok saying "Why did the worst song of the 3 got the best choreo and why did the best song of the 3 got the worst choreo"

I was so curious on your reaction to this after I watched the episode loll. I heard that a lot of people are hating on RH Tokyo and Rie Hata after this episode. I don't get it as much personally though, since I'm used to mnet editing. Most people actually agree that the leader class song is not the best. Most people all agree that the middle class song is the best (with rookie class being second best), and ag squad's choreo for middle class is going viral already actually on tik tok from what I'm seeing at least on my fyp. I actually feel like honey j was a bit to overpowering in the thing with her vs rie hata for some reason, but it could be just preference. Loll, the directors cut didn't get any points which I found so weird... Like why put an emphasis on it. Lol, the men for the middle class is a big topic and etc, since people think that while they don't have any issues with them, they just didn't think it was necessary for men to be included, taking potential time for other dancers. Ohh, woah I didn't know about the waiting time thing you talked about. I thought you could have your phone here and there whole waiting to do the next set, but I suppose that I'm basing that on various movie bts and very select few mv bts. For the middle class, the only thing I wished was different would be no men, and then more formations. Cause they have all those dancers, yet they mostly stayed in "simple" (cause it's definitely not simple, I just don't know what word I want to use) layouts. One question I had thought, but do you think you will ever react to street dance China? There are 5 seasons from what I remember, and there are some contestants from Japan (like ibuki and kyoka), and I think prodmon who have contended on that show! I know it's Chinese, so not something you would usually react to, but I feel like you might like the battles, performances, and how the judges judge.

I've been waiting so much for this I literally just woke up from a dream where you said it's gonna take more time to edit lol.

We literally had the same reaction with what JYP said bout aaliyah and vanessa, like WTF. LOL. The rookie class was my favorite too among the three classes. Also fun fact, LOGISTX real name is Logan Edra, and she’s Filipino!

I also thought Honey J did it much better! It's not even the edit, if you see the battle i feel like Rie was filmed much more than honey but because honey caught our attention more, we felt like we saw her more. I'm actually very disapointed with the leaders video. I mean Rie actually didn't make the best choices. Last season, when Bada saw that kirsten was doing the choreo very good, she did a duet with her in the center at the end, but this time, I feel like Rie didn't give Honey J justice. This just showcased that there are levels in the game and it's not always about who danced the best. Even the choreo for the leaders, i didn't really like it, the more I watch it the more I find it cringey. It's just weird.

Ri.hay and Knucks are rumoured to be getting married this year 🫢 If true, it's probably after filming the show... +Uwa from Ojogang (a black-haired gorgeous girl among the rookie class duo) has a history of making idol debuts in Japan! (Now they're disbanded.)

So actually it wasn’t just Rie and Honeyj that were chosen for the choreo rematch, it was also Marlee and Teesha, but they cut it out from the ep:/ really disappointed bcs i thought Marlee and Teesha had more well rounded performances than at least Rie hata. It was funny bcs after the mv came out Teesha, Marlee and Kaea were the ones that stood out most, capability will take you places! lol

The youngest is 2006

Logan is Logistx real name Jeff. Oh did you know that Rie is half pinoy? She said she’s glad to join SWF to represent the pinoys because she was shocked that Philippines were not included.

mnet really stepped it up with the videos this time, and i am super happy!! i think they all came out great, but the Leaders' video was my personal favourite. sooo cohesive and sooo crisp. i love how all the leaders got center time and how the highlight was truly the dance. also, Rie's work ethic really shone through. so professional and kind, truly. i think we've reached the point of the show where Mnet starts to relax A LIIITTLE BIT with the evil editing and forced narratives and finally lets us see the camaraderie between the groups and how much they admire and hype each other up. very excited about the next missions!

sof mof

Rookie class challenge has the most views by far on mnet's tik tok account..seems like public sentiment agrees the girls and choreo ate! :)

Nigel W.

I think rie’s student was the translator

Nigel W.

I think they picked rie when considering director and I thought the same about the choreo at first then realised it was more the song and the choreo is probably the best you could do with this song lol

jeffavenue

oh LOL. gotcha. also damn so many half pinoys in the show! love it!

Honestly, as a video editor watching the leader class, I think the issue is that they were trying to make it difficult to pick a winner, so the edit utilized angles that didn't allow for good comparison. The editor probably did an initial edit that used the good, front-on angles and a producer would have come back and said they wanted a more ambiguous edit with close-ups where it looks good but is hard to feel the vibe. But if you watch the leader class with Rie and Honey J, you notice the camera will be switching shots in multiple cases or zooming in, which shows us there was a limited number of shots showcasing what the producer wanted, otherwise we wouldn't see as the camera switched from one person to another. That's almost always how a show ends up, with showing bad camera work, the producer wanting to show or not show something specific. They might have disguised it because it was too obvious Rie won with front-on angles, or because Honey J did do well. They might have been protecting the show against backlash if people disagreed with the decision or any number of reasons relating to the result being predicted or how viewers react to the result.
