I think that people are voting not based on talent, they are voting based on visuals😭 there are so many trainees who should be higher, like donggyu for example. (There are people voting for c trainees, but I do see a lot of people with more k trainees in their voting posts obviously) After watching the all star plot twist performance during the Livestream of this episode, I saw a lot of Korean watchers become fans of he xinlong!!🥹 He is going really really viral actually amongst Koreans, Japanese, and I think I saw thai watchers as well! This is on twitter, and Weibo from what I'm seeing. YouTube comments as well. As someone who has liked him for a good amount of time, I was so happy to see him receive so much recognition! His fancam for plot twist has also got over 100 k views, and he's the only one who is with that amount of views! He even was trending number 1 on a specific search website! I found it really strange that they made the Chinese trainee's reveal their rank one by one like that to be honest... This isn't actually their first time meeting each other, the k and c trainees. I believe that they met before when filming the intro and etc! Hope that helps! On YouTube, they have videos of that.

the method of choosing you were mentioning is usually done for the second mission. for the first mission i believe its always by the highest ranking or someone who is ranked first in a game that is choosing the members if i remember correctly

My current top 8 are Sangwon, Leo, Junmin, Anxin, Jiahao, Xinlong, Chingyu, and Han Harry June although I wouldn't mind if Woojin or Donggyu is in the line up either.

Loving watching this with you - so fun. Have been voting Dong Gyu, He Xinlong and my baby Kangmin since the start but Jun min def got my vote this ep. I think I’m going to change some of my other votes around as well as I’m thinking their vision is a strong powerful group more like stray kids vibe so I think I’m going to vote with that in mind.

Yes! They cut his audition but I would definitely recommend going and watching it! He’s an underrated all rounder and I’m super upset that Mnet is trying to sabotage him. (You probs don’t remember him because he literally had like a total of 5 seconds of screen time previously)

Also, to clarify the ranking from the first mission, I don’t think it was based on the voting. I think it’s their individual ranking from the signal song mission and it’s based on some combination of the judges scores plus the likes and views on the hola solar fancams. That’s why the all star trainees all have higher ranks despite people like Li Yu (who is a 1 star) being much more popular in votes and fancam views. Like it was impossible for them to get past a certain rank because of the judges ranking them low.

It’s similar to the first season but in the first season, the 1st mission ranking was solely based on fancam views/likes and didn’t also include the judge ranking of the stars

Jeff agreed, I don't think people were watching C side show either. Xinglong took care of the youngest member of Boy Story a lot, so Yun seo is just up his alley. I do hope people on the K side learn more about him and Zhao, and know they are already debuted idols as well, and have long experience too. Xinglong is better than me, I would've flexed that I'm SK labelmate and know them. lol Xinlong fancam is currently the most viewed out of the performances uploaded on Youtube, :)

I knew we'd get an unlikely friendship when the shows merged but xinlong and yunseo melted my heart! Him and boheng are my picks for sure from the c trainees.

Sangwon looks so much like Enhypen's Jay😍 that alone is reason to like him, but he's also really talented. He's in my top 3 with Xinglong and Leo

So about Yi Chen... Prior to this episode they only showed his face/reactions and part of when he was getting vocal coaching (3 seconds), but they only showed 2 seconds of the audition he was in and focused on the other participant and skipped his signal song evaluation entirely. We had only seen 5 seconds of him performing, no interviews, and the one part of vocal training they showed was negative commentary. Since he's mainly a rapper, I'm hoping he gets more edits now the shows are combining. His singing seems much better and he's really funny. He also made it to the finals in another show, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again here. Can't wait to see your reaction to the performance next episode. Also, I am so not surprised Yi Chen is viewer bait this episode. He has lots of fans from the other show, I won't say which so I don't spoil you if you watch it at some point later. The fact he started off at rank 80 in the show storyline but the ranks they showed at the very start had him in the 20s. I wonder at what point this was shot and how it calculated between the two. Yi Chen is a good singer, rapper, dancer, and has star power/personality. He may not be the best but he's so well rounded I'm not sure how it's possible he was that low with how many dedicated fans are voting for him.

Yeah I’ve been openly criticizing how Chuei Liyu, Chung Sang Hyeon, and Masato are in the top 8. Cuz they haven’t shown me anything of note yet. And it will be very hard to stan if we get these 3 and they’re just visuals who can’t really sing/rap/dance. This will be like Polarix, made from the show Starlight Boys, all over again who had 3 members who can’t really sing/dance/rap make the debut team smh. I ultimately ended up not stanning that group even though they also have very good people.

Really excited for next episode where hopefully 🤞Jang Haneum gets to shine during plot twist cause he’s like the one with most main vocal potential but Mnet for sure ain’t showing that! Hope you can check him out. His audition wasn’t shown but it’s I’ll see you there tomorrow. But mostly, I’m just impressed w some of his other covers so I hope more people get to know him!

Jun Lee Jeong -- the person you said looked like an idol IS an idol haha he's in WHIB, the same group with Jun Min :) Also the one you didn't recognize from Yumeki's team is Yoon Min, he's the K group main rapper in the signal song. His audition clip didn't make it to the episode edit but he's so good he's basically an all rounder. Also! the rankings here are not solely on votes but a combination of the master's evaluation with the signal song likes and views. Hope you get to read this! Can't wait for the next episode!

plot twist was SUCH A GOOD PERFOMANCE!!! there's 5 of my top 8 picks (Nian Boheng, Xinlong, Yunseo, Chen Bowen and Hyunjun - other three are Sun Hengyu, Hsu Chingyu and yoonmin but sometimes I'm changing it cuz it's pretty hard to choose only 8 😭)

I am quite okay with sanghyeon being there because he is a rapper... But.. Liyu and masato??? I am not saying that they have no potential or anything bad. But Liyu really need more time to grow and they're not ready to debut. It was the same as Kim Sungmin from CYE.. I feel sorry if they get a lot of criticism like Sungmin.. Their fans prioritize visuals over a group's talent... it would be a shame if we can't get groups like wanna one and ZB1 anymore...

I agree with you about the all stars doing Stray Kids. The killing part was amazing and so were the rappers but the main vocalist and also Seo Won’s voices weren’t just softer but really nasal toned and didn’t fit the rest of them. Jiahao who did the kick is really amazing but may have been the only C trainee and seemed quiet when going for parts. I hope he pushes for a bigger role next time

Not Xinlong and Yunseo being 2 of my top trainees and bonding with each other!!! SO sweet! I feel as though Yunseo is so mature for his age, and he has so much training and potential. Xinlong debuted so early too so i'm sure he feel a lot for the younger guys.

The Plot twist team had 4 of my top 8 on it lol I think they did great! I think this team was going to do great no matter the song tbh. Winning group rn!!

omg that's amazing he's getting so much love! I just looked at the fancams and he is doing so well! this is why it doesn't really matter how little lines you get cause you never know who's watching and what could happen. I understand why people vote for visuals cause I love me some good looking idols myself - but we need to stay in tune at least even if you're not the best singer. or if not, at least be incredibly good at dancing.

at this moment - im ok with sang hyeon of the 3 cause he can rap quite well. I don't really remember masato's performance so I'll reserve judgement there but ya li yu needs a lot of work even with the plot twist audition between yi Chen. ill be happy to see growth tho but if not.. ya like u said, it'll be hard to stan since we only have like 8 people.

at this point of the show, if li yu debuts - the discrepancy in skills for the debut group would be way too much (if he were to debut among the likes of sang won, Leo, Jung min, Xin long etc) and it could really limit the team on how hard of a song or choreography they can do. they would have to meet in the middle. but like I mentioned, I am open to seeing li yu grow and hopefully he'll get there.

right?? stray kids songs are so big and full, you need vocals that cut above the instrumentation and that are consistent energy wise with the raps.

Yes! What’s crazy though is that he’s also a pretty good vocalist too! He sang Spot for his audition and did both Zico and Jennie’s parts. He was given like a few seconds of screen time in the second episode where they were singing in front of the vocal master and Yoonmin was able to hit the high notes for hola solar easily and the master complimented him (which is why he kept his all star even through the signal song mission) He’s also a former JYP trainee and made it to the LOUD group (kickflip) but left before debut

I feel like having the same number of K & C trainees would be ridiculous. Especially with the skillset seen in Chinese trainees. It made sense to me watching this episode.🥲 These are some good ones but their overall levels don’t match the other planet. I do believe some of them will really shine through the rest of the episodes.

This method of grouping was actually the same with the 1st round battle during BP1. I can clearly remember when Keita had to choose his team as he was in the top rank and he created the legendary Kill this love. The difference is, this season was grouped by star level unlike before the can freely choose who they want
