Honestly the thing you said about styling and looks is SO true. Like a lot of us who are Jiahao fans have this joke that him changing his hair saved him, but honestly… it’s kinda true. Like obviously his talent spoke for itself with Tambourine and Chains but I think you even said something about him during the Tambourine performance and it was like “he looks like an idol” or something to that degree. Whether we agree with it or not, when it comes to being an idol, looks matter. Just consider the groups we got from boys planet 1 and 2… like the members are literally visuals GALORE. I think people really started to notice Jiahao after he changed his hair because it helped him fit the typical idol image more and while Jiahao has always been pretty (he’s very much praised for fitting k-beauty standards and in his last survival show he was talked about a lot for being an all-rounder who also had amazing visuals), I think the hair at the beginning of b2p was kind of muting his visuals and so especially between him and Anxin, he was being overlooked.

just fyi haneum's cover is lowered by one semitone (just one :o) from the original key but it's still obviously incredibly impressive :D his vocal range is genuinely insane, especially for a male vocalist

omg ahh, im glad you reacted to this!! didnt expect it😂 For Chinese people, we do take our shoes off don't worry😭😭 We usually have slippers that we put on after we take our shoes off. I think that what they were talking about was when the c trainees were first moving into the new dorms. They showed a clip during the show, and to me, it looked like they just temporarily didn't take them off since they were moving. (I've been guilty of not taking shoes off when I forget to grab someting, or need to run back out lmaoo😂

Haneum actually does have a bunch of solo songs! He debuted as a soloist a few years ago. He's also having a comeback at the end of this month! Sidenote: the blonde looks SO GOOD on him

Of the Haos, yeah most of them didn't survive the big C planet chop before the merge. Xuan Hao was the one who was also on Boys Planet 1, he's the one who practically kissed He Junjin for his seat in the first Planet C episode. He's also in the BL Drama ABO Desire. Long Guo Hao, I honestly don't remember, he didn't survive past the merge. Hong Zhihao was on "Kill the Romeo" Team 2 (with Mr Sexy). And He Jia Hao was the guy who auditioned with Sen and was sent home right away.

Chinese American here, as far as I'm aware we ALWAYS take our shoes off at the door and put on inside slippers/flip flops. Outside shoes NEVER go in the bedroom. So Idk why it seemed like the Planet C trainees just walk around inside with their outside shoes. Maybe where you take off the outside shoes is different in a dorm room setting vs a house? I have noticed a lot of people now think Chinese households don't take off their outside shoes because of that clip, but that is not true in most instances. I think most East asian countries (actually, Asians in general) are like that, there's outside shoes and inside shoes. Though admittedly I have on occasion put on my outside shoes, realize I forgot something then ran inside quickly with them on and just hope no one notices.

yes i agree! he definitely had that aura after the hair change cause his audition with his first hair was good but the aura maximized later on.

ahhh. i’ve done the shoes indoors thing to grab something real quick but only when i lived alone. at my family’s or any other indoor spaces, ive always taken shoes off first. i love how this is a cultural moment lol

I was planning on watching this by my own but got lazy. Thanks for reacting to it. Li Zihao is such an entertainer and Haneum's vocals my goodness! I was rooting for him but was sad when he got eliminated. Dongyu is adorable and so sweet as always. Liyu seems more reserved. I agree with you that he got the look and I just hope he can improve on his vocals and stage presence. Suren is so funny as well. I didn't really pay attention to him in the show but here he's so fun to watch. I hope we get other variations of b2p contestants on this show

Hey Jeff! Not sure if it’s cool to drop this here, but Lay from EXO recently had a concert in China with over 90k fans in the crowd — and the production was insane! I don’t know if you’re super familiar with his music, but it’s honestly worth checking out. He showcased a lot of Chinese culture throughout the show. Also, Kaiwen was one of the dancers along with other trainees from his agency, and even Sehun and Irene from Red Velvet went to see it. If you’re interested, I can send you the YouTube link!
