Jiahao’s name change really took everyone by surprise tbh. I also didn’t even notice from the post lol but then saw everyone talking about it on Twitter and was so taken aback. I do think in retrospect, the name change makes sense. I suspect the company brought it up to him first but that Jiahao quite liked the idea of changing his stage name because Arno is his English name that he’s been using for years and is obviously very fond of (it used to be the name for like his social media handles too). He’s also extremely vocal about the fact that his on stage and off stage persona are SO different and so having a separate stage name allows him to kind of separate the two. But Wakeone already has Zhang Hao, and just in general, Hao is such a common Chinese idol name. I heard that on Korean platforms, Jiahao’s name kept getting mixed up with Zhang hao’s and that in China, Jiahao is an extremely common name (there was even another Jiahao in boys planet at first). Also his name is 5 Korean characters as opposed to every other member having only 2 and I heard it was being commonly misspelled in Korean forums. Arno is a pretty unique name and so it made sense to change it for marketing reasons. I understand the sadness and the attachment everyone has to Jiahao (as a Jiahao fan since makemate1, trust I get it) but I think everyone is being a bit dramatic. Like you said, it’s similar to the Rami, The8, or even Rui from Xlov situation (who went by KuanJui on bp) and while it may seem weird for now, we’ll 100% get used to it and people will move on. And it’s not like we can’t still call him Jiahao lol. That’s still his birth name and his members still call him that and lots of idols who have different stage names, the fans still call them by their real names.

Lmaoo, I'm okay with jiahao's stage name being Arno, it was definitely an adjustment though for sure🤣 I know that he wanted to use it for a stage name since the other survival show he was on with anxin I think, so as long as he wants to use it is good. The thing is, is that there are so many 'Haos' in kpop, so it's good that he changed it. Plus, people are gonna still call him jiahao, so it probably isn't gonna change anything🤔

I think the difference is that people are actually getting mad and going overboard if we still call him Jiahao. I’ll still call him Jiahao and when I was writing comments about him on TikTok, I got so many aggressive comments telling me that I have to call him Arno 💀

It helps in terms of brand reputation and recognition. Searching Google for "Arno" is going to be a lot more unique than searching for his actual name, if that makes sense. So hopefully it's a smart branding move.

It's good for his branding if people call him Arno. The more the algorithm and stats show people talking about "Arno" then the better it'll be for his brand. It's like people talking about Ni-ki from Enhypen and not putting the dash in his name. If you google "Niki", another artist comes up. If you google "Ni-ki" then you get the correct person.

I know it's time to move on and accept the members of the group, but Leejeong and Kangmin were both my picks (along with 5 out of the 8 who made the final lineup), so seeing them and Sangwon hugging and talking about keeping a friendship forever pulled at my heartstrings because damnnnnn, I wanted them to debut together! :( Then seeing how cute Anxin and Kangmin were together? Stab to the heart. Ugh.

Really? I haven’t seen this at all?? That’s so crazy. Like I have seen people pushing the Arno thing because of brand reputations or whatever but not people being like aggressive about it? I honestly think it’s a minority - because honestly most people were hating on the name at first and saying they refused to call him Arno - so I wouldn’t take it too deeply. Hao hasn’t spoken explicitly about it but he went by Jiahao for SO long and thru 2 survival shows that I’m sure he’s comfortable with fans calling him either.

I think there's gonna be a total of 8 episodes cause they said they'll be releasing these for the month of October. At the moment there's 6 so next week should be the last 2.
