Aright! Thanks to everyone who voted on my poll! There's no survival show airing soon it seems so we are doing an oldie but goodie!

Please note that this is a REWATCH.

I watched this while it was airing so it's been awhile. I wanted to react to this because when I watched this back then, I didn't know anything about kpop yet. I was FRESH. I wanted to rewatch it from a knowledgeable perspective about the industry. I have so much to say still too cause I've never really been able to verbalize my thoughts on this.

PS. The second placer was NEXZ's survival show and I'm not opposed to watching this later on.

PSS. Normally, survival show reactions are under the higher tier but this is a rewatch so I'm ok putting this on the lower tier.

OMG i've been waiting for YEARS for you to rewatch this. was it when you watched PD101 S2? but i'm so happy you're watching this now, it's my favourite after BP1 😭 PDX101 was my intro to Kpop too! idk anything at that time, what big3 is even about 😂 rewatching this with you gonna be a trip to the memory lane. i'm so excited it's gonna be fun!! yes, yuvin looks so much like mingyu. the funny thing is that i know yuvin first before mingyu. so mingyu is the one that looks like yuvin to me lol. dyk that there's also build-up's choi suhwan here? the one that sang and rapped in "sherlock" and "i'll be your man". he's in the individual trainee team.

It's such a surreal experience to rewatch this now. The minute I saw the Drippin boys come on the screen (the Woollim trainees) I can't help but feel sad because Changuk just dropped his enlistment notice this week and Woollim is in such dire straits. I mean it's not all bad, Woodz is doing amazing today and Cravity are doing fine but in 2019 I could not have predicted where we'd be in 2026 at all! I loved X1 and was voting when this show was airing, like you, and I was heartbroken over everything that went down but it wasn't the boys' fault at all. I'm equally excited and apprehensive about continuing this rewatch with you! On the one hand it feels so crazy to (re)discover their origins - most of them were really literal babies. On the other hand it still feels impossible to get the present-day context out of my mind when watching. Maybe the rewatch will help me focus on the positives only I hope!

Also, watching this now really makes me feel 2019 was a whole different era and sometimes I miss it because that was when I first got into kpop myself, so naturally I'm very attached to it. The whole Produce ecosystem was (unfortunately) so compelling, and the kinds of groups/songs that were popular then still hold up today for me. But everything just feels the same and yet so different with shows like B2P now, if that makes sense!

Choi Young Jun and Lia Kim did a wedding concept photoshoot/video as an event to promote the 2025 Choreo Awards which took place on January 24th. Aside from saying "We married dance!" and that it was just a concept, they also reaffirmed that they are just close friends.

MBK rebranded to Pocketdol Studio shortly after PdX101. Having followed Hangyul's journey since seeing him on The Unit back in early 2018 all the way until now... I can not express enough how much I wish things had gone differently following the show. Side note, the production team said Dohyon was 16 in Korean age, but he was 14 international age when they were filming.

Oh also, Dohyon wasn't a company trainee at the time but he joined the survival show Under Nineteen (which aired from Nov 2018-Feb 2019). He probably signed with MBK following it for him to have 3 months of company training at the start of PdX101. Since departing from Pocketdol and filing his lawsuit, he's been using the stage name toni rei. He has a youtube channel under that name with three videos posted for three self-produced tracks, once of which was posted this past December..

For the next survival show, i really really rec you to watch idol producer but this was china survival show and it was an old one but if you're interested. Does anyone else crack up laughing everytime they hear the inspirational video at the beginning? Maybe it's the video editor in me, but I keep hyper focusing on music they use I recognize and can't stop giggling when I'm surprised it's in a K-pop content show. I cannot stop noticing the opening hype video is using an adjusted instrumental of Believer by Imagine Dragons. Honestly, not sure why it's so funny to me, but does anyone else have this reaction or is it just me?

you were right in your first guess and your second guess. VIVIZ was there, but they were in GFRIEND before they split off to become VIVIZ with just 3 of the members. They talked a bit about it when they were on Queendom (season 2 I think).

I never really watch produce x1 so its really fun to watch it now and I loved their debut. I hope in the future you maybe can watch produce 48 where Izone came from 🤗✨

I'm so late but I have so many things to say about that !! It's bringing so many memories for me because I was in korea when it was airing so I was living the hype for the show first hand. For brand new music trainees they became bdc after and I think you saw them on peaktime For the guy dancing siren by sunmi I don't think I agree with what you said aout guy dancing girl group dancing. Because even before that time guy where doing girl group dance but it's became something they don't do because they want to look cool maybe. It's something older kpop miss a lot. Even the most hip hop group like bigbang did it. For Woodz I think he was not as good as singing before because he was the rapper in Uniq and he was on show me the money so mostly concentrated on rap. If you like baekjin you should Mix Nine it's the first time he was introduced.

Damn can’t believe I’m here watching pdx101 together with you Jeff. It’s painful for me but since I’m curious of your review I’ll watch it with you . I totally loved this show very much and X1 . Like you I was also invested in the group . Sadly because of the rigging controversy they disbanded within months after their debut . I watched their fancon online and even bought their album which I don’t regret but certainly reminds me of sad and painful memories. I supported the group in various ways back then like participating in LED trucks etc . and when they did disband it left me heartbroken . Thankfully I saw NCT127 and recovered pretty quick through their NEOZONE album Note : sorry I had to share my backstory . I get emotional everytime I see something about PDX101 and X1 .

As far as I remember kook heon went on an interview back in September 2021 and shared that he was recovering from social anxiety after departing his former label ( The Music Works) while Yuvin went on to sign with a different label and is now pursuing a career as a singer while moving away from his idol image . While Wooseok ( TOP MEDIA) is currently in the military . He is set to be discharged from military service on May 3 2026 as he also enlisted on the same day as JAEHYUN (NCT )

MAHIRO (YG) left YG after PDX101 then went on to sign with OUI ENT then left the label . He debuted as an idol in Japan as a member of BUGVEL .

GO GET HER did get released by BDC feat EUNSANG . BDC consists of the same members but except EUNSANG cause he is a member of YOUNITE thus he was featured in the track on official release . Sadly BDC disbanded on 2023 . The main vocalist Junghwan debuted as a solo artist under the name LUVEN .

Do Hyon is currently a free agent active as a rapper , songwriter and producer under the name Toni Rei. He produced songs for CLASS:y and recently participated in SM Entertainment’s song camp
