Was about to sleep but saw the tweet. My heart just SUNK.

According to the tweet, Heeseung is pursuing solo as he envisions a different musical direction for himself.

I am in SHOCK. Ofc I will support both Heeseung and Enhypen but I am speechless 😩 I was so sure they’d all renew.

I need a minute to process this. holy shit 😩

Wow it is real. I went to Weverse and there is a letter by Heesung. It seems like he is not renewing his contract with Belift (in the letter Heesung talks about being 6 years now) and he is leaving Enhypen.

I SWEAR I NEVER SAW THIS COMING AS AN ENGENE (i found out through your post 😭) based on my understanding of his letter, “…following the direction suggested by the company” — it felt like they caused the push for heeseung to totally leave the group. we were always aware that heeseung has his own plans for his musical career and being in enha, they strictly need to follow what they’re known for (vampire concept, etc). he wanted to do this but didn’t want to put his ambitions first before the group. it is completely possible to do solo work while still being part of the group (as what most idols do nowadays) so it is VERY frustrating that the company can’t make this happen for him? not to mention that enha’s schedule is so packed that heeseung probably can’t pursue his own plans. idk but i really think they can’t make both ends meet that the only option left for heeseung was to leave the group (or was he even given an option?) THE COMPANY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER. didn’t notice i sent a whole paragraph lol sorry can’t control the rant!

i only took a quick nap wth happened?!?! i woke up and immediately saw this thinking "it's not april fools but please be a lie". this is genuinely so crazy like i never would have thought any of the members would leave the group especially now. not right now after they have achieved so much together but maybe that is why he felt comfortable enough to do so. regardless, i will still be supporting them all. (enhypen is 7 in my heart)

I don't understand... why now? If he's tired of being in a group and REALLY wants to pursue music as a solo artist, why not wait until next year when their contract ends? And I just don't see Heeseung wanting to leave Enhypen if he has the option not to. All of this is just confusing and sketchy.

I really hate that Hybe doesn't allow the freedom of creavity for there idol unless its for the group. Like besides BTS and TXT Yeongjun, it just seems to me there idol just don't have that opportunity at all. Its like the group must always be the focus no matter what, if you get what I mean. I think they didn't allow Heesung to pursue that solo career because the group must still be the focus.

Jeff I know we are all gonna need time to process and recover but seriously after watching enhypen and adoring and loving all 7 of them with you since ILAND, my heart has shattered. There srsly I feel like could’ve been another way around this especially yes they have achieved daesang now and other incredible awards, I’m just utterly heartbroken as to what’s happened for all parties, the memebers, the engenes, heeseung… srsly so terrible .(

feel so dizzy. heeseung might come back one day. maybe they just can’t come to a compromise right know and maybe there have been fights as well which is human. i respect him so much and his decision and will support all 7. but i just hope that as he suggested in the letter “he didn’t want to get in the way of the group w his solo work” is something he can overcome if this is really the only reason he left. and they could find their way back together just maybe. i’m in shock and if this is permanent i will forever love heeseung and enhypen. i just believe and hope that if he ever wanted to come back that he would be able to. thank you jeff for your wonderful reactions. i watch your yt channel since 2021 and really just yesterday i joined your patreon and was so happy when i saw how much you enjoyed heeseungs work. the timing feels unreal. take care and let’s continue to support both careers. love you

yeah enhypen's schedule have been crazyyyy since day 1. absolutely no room for other work. usually more solo work can be negotiated on contract renewal date though so idk why it didn't happen that way.

it's always ok to rant here! I just feel like if belift is willing to lose him in the group, I wish they were willing to put him on hiatus from the group to pursue solo activities and then come back in a year or something. I feel fans would understand. it's definitely better than this current situation.

Maybe the musical vision he wants to pursue does not align or would interfere with enha's current direction/schedule and he badly wants to concentrate and release his own music? I mean he expressed that he consulted with a lot of people and company suggested this is the way for his and enhypen's best interest. We really don't know. I wish him the best though, and the remaining members too.

I'm pretty sure ILAND was one of the reasons I first subscribed to your Patreon, so even though I'm not closely following the group anymore because I preferred their earlier musical direction, as someone who watched the show and followed them in their first year this was so shocking. I'm hoping Heeseung comes out with great music and this is his decision.

I have NOT been okay! Running face-first into a concrete wall would've hurt less than that Weverse notification did. It just came outta nowhere. It's so much to process, and unfortunately, we all feel like we have a lot of questions. I hate how crazy I feel, like I'm experiencing a break up or something. I hope the other members are coping well and relying on each other. I hope Heeseung is okay, as well. Hey, YJungwon was a guest on the nothing much prepared show from young ji. I really recommend you to react to it or at least watch it on your own. I feel like, if you can read between the lines, it’s pretty clear how the team (or at least Jungwon) thinks about the situation regarding Heeseung.. I really hope, that his appearance on the show and his indirect words have an effect on the people who are still harassing the group and blaming them and the company for this situation. I hope all of the members and also Evan find their peace eventually.
