In regards to Xie Zheng not being allowed to be seen int he capital without invitation. It all just rounds up to being seen as a threaten. As he is a military men having a high military figure specailly like xi xheng could lead to conspiracy of rebel to the throne. And with him investigating the whole conspiracy ofcourse the villains wouldnt want him back in the capital (emperor and that grand tutor li lmfao)

Generals had to be invited to enter the Capital by Imperial edict. Coming without an invitation was considered rebellion and was punished by death. Xie Zheng took a risk to come for Changyu but he didn't think the Emperor would dare accuse him. That's why he almost "dared" the man with Song Yan to impeach him for coming without summons. Grand Tutor Li was fully aware of the plan against Xie Zheng but he didn't anticipate that his grandson would appear to destroy his plans. You might have missed that Xie Zheng was given the incense of desire as the eunuch shouted to him when he was in the Palace with the Princess, so he was under the influence of a powerful aphrodisiac. I think the word "thief" is a bad translation. In other platforms they used the word suspect

Stayed up to watch this.. I can’t believe we’re almost done! Congratulations on picking a great show for your 1st Cdrama. I do agree with your comments at the end. No filler episodes and everything is so engaging. Can’t wait for next week’s upload! Again, I’d recommend Blossom (same director) or Prisoner of Beauty if you feel like doing another Cdama😄

Every move in an empire needs an edict esp in military affairs, conveying that it is an Emperors wishes/command. About burning paper: Burning paper offerings honors deceased loved ones by symbolically sending money, clothes, and other items to them in the afterlife—fire and smoke carry these gifts from the living world to the spirit world. The act expresses love and filial care while also reminding the living that only one’s deeds and karma persist after death, not material possessions.

The part where Song Yan gets a taste of his medicine was sooooooo good, the back to back with Changyu, her guards, and then Xie Zheng LOL. I was hoping he'd learn his lesson by now, but he still insulted XZ the moment he saw him... I'm kind of glad he didn't get a redemption arc because in reality, not everyone is willing to change 😂.

It's the opposite actually, for the martial generals, specially who have great battle achievements and therefore proved having the ability for a palace coup as well as with people's affection, their entering into the capital without summons is absolutely forbidden and would be seen as a huge crime. Xie zheng coming in and out so casually is simply because he feels no fear or respect for the current emperor at all.

For me, I dont think SONGYAN changed at all, he may say pretty words in front of his colleagues which make him sounds humble or mature, and he looked regret in front from CHANGYU, but the minute he saw XIEZHENG, the live-in husband, immediately he showed how much he despise 'ordinary people' and feel superior. His humbleness only showed in front of people with higher ranking. SONGYAN may have some talent but clearly not enough, and he may have some pride and erudition of a scholar, but he has no spine, which means, all the ambitions and believes he talked about are just pretty words.

When a group of people approach and toast you, making sure you drink with each of them one on one, trust me, they dont have good intention. If they truly are with good intentions, they could suggest that she should only drink a sip each time while they each finish a cup, which is more fair and harmless.
