I can see! (better at least) - textual ramble (Patreon)

So around a year ago I had something fall into my left eye, gave it a lil itch, looked up - and noticed the sign down the street was hard to read.
Annoying. It must still be in the eye. So I closed it, looked at the sign with my other, undisturbed eye, but the sign remained blurry.
Huh.
That’s weird.
I’d never had any problems with my eye sight before. I call my mother who has a lots of know how regarding eyes. “Sudden change in sight” I report and she alarmingly points out I could be having some horrible eye disease or be suffering an aneurysm. It was neither - but I sure as hell had a fun little anxiety session. Thanks mom.
My countless hours making loving eye contact with lcd displays had just finally caught up to me, it seemed. I went to the clever eye people in Denmark and sure enough, I could make do with some glasses. My eyes are a little misaligned, a little turned around, and are at opposite +- so individually they don’t work so well, but they compensate for one another! Apparently seeing long lines of light when you drive at night isn’t normal either? Huh. Astigmatism is a cool word at least.
It’s all very minimal, but I want to keep safe when driving (and be able to read signs lol), so I finally decided to get a prescription here in the US, and but a pair of glasses.
I went with some that aren’t too flashy, just something to get me used to wearing glass in front of my eyes. I’m wearing them as I type right now! However they’ll likely stay off while I climb this morning haha.
Do let me know what you think of my choice? I’ll be trying different styles for sure, but I feel like I look quite cute with these already hehe 🩵
How’s your Monday looking? Let me know in the comments 🌱
See you around!
