You dig into your pocket and pull out the golden button.

The large cow's expression drops and she freezes. The cat next to her nods approvingly.

"Now-" she manages to make out, before her voice gets caught in her throat.

You raise the button in your paw toward her and she slowly reaches down to pick it up. She stares in absolute disbelief at the shiny object and her eyes seem to well up. It seems she doesn't need to confirm whether the button is real or not; she just knows. The large plush cow before you sputters a mixture of gratitude and grief as she picks you up and hugs you tightly. Though the feeling is just as intense, you don't feel the tease she put you through before. Instead, a deep, warm, and loving sensation spreads through your body and your eyes shut tight as you hug back. You can feel her sorrow but also her appreciation, as if your hearts are momentarily connected. You start to tear up as well, now understanding Mother's grief from losing what was special to her.

"Oh bless yer soul, bless-" Her words get caught in her tears as she squeezes you.

Eventually she puts you down, her hooves still shaking after being deeply moved by the gesture. You shyly kick at a nearby pillow with your hands held behind your back. You've never struck a chord with anyone in such a way and doing so fills you with pride and satisfaction.

"I won't pryin' how this came to be in your possession unless yer dying to tell me," she wipes at her cheeks, "Thank you, you have no idea how much this means to me."

You glance over at the cat who gives you a wink with his non-buttoned eye.

"How can I ever repay you, sugar?"

You think for a moment. Though you've given up the button, you may have found yourself a safe haven for a little while. The only thing that's missing is... You hold up the doll of your friend again. She tenderly picks him up but shakes her head.

"Now unfortunately, I just don't have the means to turn him back to what he once was; however, yer connection sure is mighty special. There's something that you'll have to give to him for him to awaken. That being said, I do feel a strong emotion coming for this here doll, it feels like somethin' heavy's been on his mind that he's been dying to say."

She hands him back to you and you hold him up and look into his eyes in an attempt to decode the message.

"If you want, I can leave you two be so y'all can work things out. Take it from someone who knows what i's like to be a plush in need of love: take yer time and-" She pulls out a small heart-shaped box which you immediately assume is the sewing kit, "make somethin' special to give to them."

She pulls out an assortment of crafting supplies from within a compartment of the box: thread of all colors, beads of all shapes and sizes, a small assortment of fabric, and a variety of buttons.

"Other than that sweetie, whatever yer heart desires... you just name it."

Is there absolutely no way to get them both back to their former selves right now? That would be nice

Quad

I find the concept of irreversibly losing your identity both extremely interesting and a bit sad... But of course also dope haha I am curious, too

Lead Boo

Can we make him something that promises we'll try and keep eachother safe?

2026-10-10 20:00 Asriel looking cutie. If anything I'd like to see if it's possible to get further upgrades and stacking transformations instead of fully replacing them out. Like right now, we're a Plushie but also remnant of the Deadend Dragon, that's neat!

So Well I really like spicy content, but it's mostly the danger of loosing a heart. Maybe another companion? I mean, you lost the button, but maybe she can give him something for the person the button was from. Like a chance to stay in contact.

2026-10-10 20:00 I’ve tried really giving it some thought, and one idea keeps coming back to me. I have a million questions to ask, so I’m going to focus on what could be made. I like the idea Lead posited with making something to make our bunny friend feel safe and I’d like to suggest: a quilt. I think growing up with a Nan who thought him how to sew, I think maybe he would have had one of those big, slightly heavy quilts that are really warm and comfortable. You can also put a lot of personality and comfort into them, so maybe it could have something illustrated on it that maybe suggests they’ve made it this far, and they’ll both see it through together. (I’m, honestly not sure if this is the type of comment you meant, but it’s what popped into my head so I’m shooting my shot)
2026-10-09 10:20 Edit 2: Oh it’s questions to ask Mother! You know, I wanna know who the last caretaker was who gave her life. I am a SUCKER for lore. What’s the bunny’s name? We’ve just been calling them the bunny and I don’t think we ever got the chance to ask them what it is. I feel like that could be significant in some way.

Penumant

I think I'd like to know what happened to the lamb that was brought up a couple of times. And who this "boss" figure is that claimed them after they were turned.

PupCosmo

I’m thinking along the same line, we should make something that shows we care about him. Although we don’t know much about him we do know sewing is important to him. My suggestion would be to craft a sewing kit plushie for the bun stuffy to hold

Foxigami and May Quill

If she can't turn him back, can she at least turn us back? Like at least make the onesie we wore back into a onesie rather than [us]

Ou7

There could be a Onesie x Plushie nap/cuddle session, to show the bunny a little love as they are right now. Or maybe something in direction of plushophilia? The onesie grinding against the plush bunny? :3c

Dáire

Pooltoy?

G'rais

I think the question I would like to ask is about the pocket watch. We were supposed to trade the button to fix the watch so I would like to know what other things we could use to trade to fix the watch.

Rickter Stonesong

I would ask mother If she could make sure the fox toy is safe and does not get disassembled, or have him ask if he wanted to leave with you. If you only mean ask her for information, then maybe a conversation where he asks about the caretaker who brought her to life. the dragon should reassure the bunny that he cares and loves him.

Rickter Stonesong

Also i am really hoping the clockmaker can help them return to their former selves eventually. Mr dragon with a dragon onesie was peak. he was so damned cute.

Nuffie

I wonder if it'd be safe to also show the broken clock to the Mother, and ask if there's any other means to fix it if the clockmaker is unable or unwilling without the button?

Devlin Skunk

I want to let her know how we got the gold button. She may have better insight into how Fox got it and why Fox would say Watchmaker would know specifically that Fox sent us when the button clearly belonged to the caretaker originally. For example, wouldn't it be interesting to learn that Fox used to live in Pillowfort but was transformed by Evil Boss into a toy slave? We've heard that Boss disassembles those Boss dislikes, and perhaps Boss is responsible for the caretaker's demise. I feel like taking a quest on this floor.

Bo Tiger

Well for questions to ask mother, there are a few I have! What does it feel like to come into existence? Being animated from love after being a static toy. Do you remember what it was like before? Are there other plushies that used to be something else? Maybe even the plastic toys? Are there different kinds of love to share and have a toy come to life? Can a toy come to life with more... lustful and naughty desires?

PupCosmo

Questions for Moother: -Why make PillowFort in the first place, is she protecting herself from the factory/hotel? (Hotel may be interesting to see if they’re aware of the entire situation) -Is there a blankie or something we can have to return here if we decide to change our mind (would be a cute option to make a blanket fort portal back to the sweet cow / means to escape a predicament in the future) -Vague question for Motherly advice for a new stuffy wanting to explore outside of here (fishing for hints like the fortune teller)

Calahoo&Joshie38

Theory: What if the original caretaker is Charlie (toy fox’s name)
