So, I've had a perv on fellow VA's patrons and I did not realise that I put out a lot more content than seems typical - at least as a rough average.

And I just wanted to get your thoughts.

Should I go away for a bit and give your guys a break? Should I just limit my audios to a couple a month?

I didn't realise that most VA's focus on their YT/Reddit or Twitch platforms.

I think I might have been going about everything all wrong.

I'm seriously not sure what to do. I don't want you guys to think I'm ungrateful, but ultimately, I don't want the excess to kill your enjoy.

Please let me know your thoughts. I'm struggling to know what to do. I feel like I've had such a plummet since 2020. I had a growing secure channel, I felt happy and fulfilled, but lately I just feel like I'm trying too hard and I'm just getting everything wrong.

im very happy with the large amount of content you put out here. In terms of growth strategies I suppose you could put out some more of the audios on free platforms, but if we're talking satisfaction I very much enjoy the status quo.

Do what you enjoy doing. If it's posting more then others do, then keep doing that. If you want to post less, that's fine too. Just do what you are comfortable with. Those who care will be happy about what you post either way. Keep going your way however you want to

I'd say if you can make as much content as you can go for it. The only reason why so many VA / asmrs or streamers only upload so much is because their schedule is very hectic and can't make the time to do so. For instance I run a channel as well but I can only afford to do one video a week four for a month. Maybe one or two audios on patreon if I'm able. But if you do have the capacity to make it and it doesn't burn you out that's a go for it the more the merrier. But if you would like to test this theory to see if you do get more engagement by not uploading try at least one month to test that theory out see what happens.

I think your doing fine I do worry you may burn yourself out as your produce so much content. My gauge from how other content creators do things that may be worth testing is they have a series or character launch on YouTube and either parts are released early or alternated between patreon and youtube. Some use youtube for sfw stuff linking to extended or sequel nsfw content on patreon, sowhich also seems to be the push on reddit as a 18+ focused platform.

If this is your full time work then you are doing well. Some that put out like 2 a month I sub for a month listen to a few audios then unsub and wait for more. If you want to step back I would understand you do a lot for us. If you mean a value proposition, yours is great for us poor folks.

You post a lot more content than others, if YouTube is going to continue to screw you over maybe you take some of the patreon audios you'd normally post just here and start consistently posting on GoneWildAudio to help get new audiences. That's where I've found most of the VAs I sub to here.

If you take a break, it should be for your wellbeing, you're doing fine. Comparing yourself to anyone will lead you to think you're doing poorly, but its based on how you are doing and how your community is doing

Speaking from the perspective of the customer here, if the question ist whether or not I want less content for the same price then the answer is obviously no, of course I don't. If the quality of the audios is consistently high and you aren't burning yourself out, then I don't think that scarcity would result in more engagement. You could also try posting to /r/gonewildaudio and /r/pillowtalkaudio on Reddit. I've seen other VAs grow an audience on there too.

Honestly your content output is amazing. And is part of the reason why I'm here. Do what you have to in order to avoid burnout. To me there's no such thing as too many audios. Either I'm listening as they come out or I get to build up a nice backlog to binge. I think you're doing great Tea. To me you are the best.

Upload whenever and however many times you want. Content creation shouldnt feel like a task or job. Creating should be driven by passion, not what you feel like others expect out of you in my opinion. I personally only upload on my YouTube channel when I really have a video idea/topic that I really wanna put out. This mentality definitely hurts consistency for some, but imo the increase in quality is worth it.

Hey Tea, Just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the stuff you share on Patreon. Given how much YouTube has been giving you trouble—banning your channel so often—it makes total sense to have Patreon as your main spot. I think most of us like having everything together here where it’s "stable". A lot of other VAs might stick to YouTube, but it makes sense why you've focused on Patreon—it's way more dependable for your followers. As for the “trying too hard” feeling you mentioned, maybe mixing in some of those simpler, more “vanilla” scenarios could help take the pressure off?? You've always had such a good way of bringing out relatable, real moments, and I think a return to those “vanilla” vibes might feel work for you? Nothing wrong with the current stuff at all! (I want to make sure that is clear) just throwing it out there since it could be a return to form , if that’s something you’d be up for. Maybe those kinds of everyday, relatable scenarios could make the content even more accessible to a wider audience?

I just realized this is gonna be really long so if you weren’t looking for that sorry in advance. I am fine with whatever you think is best for you and your mental health. I personally enjoy all of your audios. However, you have to consider your own mental and physical health when looking at your work load. I also don’t think it’s entirely fair to compare what other VAs are doing to what you are doing since a lot of them have completely different situations. You mentioned a lot of VAs focus on YouTube, which is fine because it works for them. At the same time, they haven’t had to deal with starting their YouTube channel over and over again like you have. You also mentioned that a lot of them post less than you do. I imagine some of that has to do with that they work a job outside of everything they do VA-wise so it’s difficult for them to post more. I’m sure some of them would love to be able to post more. I know this is something I struggle with too, but I am slowly trying to get myself out of the mindset of comparing what I’m doing to everyone else. I know it’s really hard to do so, but I’ve been coming more and more to terms with the fact that I can’t see everything that other people deal with and it’s not fair for either person to compare what we see to ourselves. You make a lot of content, Tea. Even a couple times a month would be good. But if you wanted to stop for a while or permanently, do what is best for you. Sometimes we have to set things aside.

I don't think that you should limit audios so we can "get a break," (I don't think any of us are or could get sick of your work). But maybe limiting audios so you don't burn yourself out or overwork yourself. Try to find what you think is a comfortable workload

You should do what you feel comfortable with. Sometimes more, sometimes less is fine by me. You upload a lot, and I have been wondering if behind the scenes it ever overwhelms you. If it doesn't, then by all means, put it all out there. But I'd much rather have fewer uploads and know that you are comfortable and content than the other way around. You are the most important person here and your well-being is paramount. Even if you were to decide to step away, for a while or forever, I firmly believe the people here would be grateful for everything you've done and supportive of your decision. <3

You say you get overwhelmd quickly, streaming can get overwhelming quick. Also maybe have a schedule on audio's. Like 3 to 4 audio's a month or something like that :))

I appreciate your openess with us as always. I think the rate at which you upload things is great. I do think though, that trying build up the general view base on other platforms would be a good idea. I understand YouTube has been unreliable, but it does garner a lot of views. I don't think you should give on posting more content there to draw people in. This is simply my opinion, but above all else, I just want you to be in a place where you know you're succeeding and not having to question your own abilities as a creator.

Well, I suppose I will throw my two cents at it. I particularly enjoy the content you make Tea, and I have no problem with the amount of content at the rate you are producing it. However, I will say, my biggest concern is whether you will eventually suffer from burnout, and I would accept in a hearbeat a lower "rate" of content output so to speak, if it meant you were both comfortable and felt you could do your best at your own pace. Any other concerns are secondary in my mind to this.

I've generally liked your output, both in pace and variety. I'm personally weary of twitch and the like, as I can rarely get onto live streams between work and errands. The pace has never been too much for me. However, if you need to adjust fir your own well being, or if you change tactics for your growth, I'll stick around.

I actually like seeing Tea's uploads quite often. In comparison to other Patreons, you have this as your focus. Half the time others start out with this, then go to youtube, then start streaming, then patreon gets abandoned or left in the dust- or in one case I personally remember actually kept taking payment while ignoring the platform entirely to stream. I love seeing you being active here, because it means you are actually working on content. So long as "you" are okay with it, and your health is alright, I don't see any real issue. Much love Tea. I definitely wouldn't want a break, I love constant audios to enjoy. That's why I'm a patron. Cuz you make good content consistently. Also the only person I patron as well. The question isn't if we want a break, because we definitely don't. But do you want one. If you do, then do so, but we don't.

As long as you don't burn yourself out, I really like how frequently you upload. But if you need to slow down for your own sake that's more than fine too.

You do upload quite a bit more than some others on average. Wich is a part that I enjoy. But I also know it's hard to work that hard with the scripts, acting and editing the whole thing. Lowering the workload to focus on fewer episodes per month could be a good shout for your health's sake.

I appreciate the amount of content you make. That being said if you want or need a break, you should take one. Whether that means slowing down content or pausing it completely, do whatever you need to do to properly take care of yourself! As long as you’re doing that you aren’t doing anything wrong!

As someone who follows a few VAs on Patreon, you are correct, your output rate is significantly higher. While I'm fine with it, I have wondered if it is sustainable. In my opinion your SFW audios are unmatched, unique to you, and why I subscribed. As others have said, if reducing the output rate will avoid burnout, please do so. The other thing I can recommend is talking to other VAs to see if they have insight. Perhaps even a collaboration with another VA on an audio might be helpful. Or put another way, networking. I hate that word but I can't deny it works.

I think it's fine if you want to step back for awhile, but it depends on you. The VAs I follow all have different upload frequencies, and they'll change whenever they feel it's time. One of them took a full-on break over the Summer, then did their special marathon of uploads in September instead of October, as she had in previous years. Others focus on streaming and their scripted stuff is secondary, so they'll upload every other month, if that. And one VA has only uploaded three times this year due to medical emergencies and natural disasters, and most of her followers still support her (myself included). If the current rate works for you, keep on track. If it's time for a change, change it up. We'll be here either way. I know it's easy to doubt yourself as a creator, but keep in mind that your work is an extension of yourself, and everyone here is here for you.

Ultimately, it depends on how you feel. If you think this is good enough, then I think it's good enough. If you feel it's too much, back off, take some time to reevaluate, and come back when you think you've got a good time frame sorted out. I personally listen to a great majority of your audios because they are entertaining to me. If you feel the need to cut back, I'm not going anywhere, and I think a good amount of us will stay as well. Whatever you feel you need to do to get ahold of a good timeframe FOR YOU, do it. We'll most likely still be here.

for me it was always more about quality than quantity, while keeping your upload schedule means you have better chance of hitting something someone wants and enjoys, that being said it is clear it's possible to keep much smaller rate of audios and keeping reasonable income/audience. Will it work for you the same? Perhaps, but you should be prepared it might not, after all the ppl I know have VA as a hobby and not their main source of income, they also adopt script form writers and not always make their own, in fact some exclusively voice others writing.

This was something i been mentioning about burn out of ideas(not bad ideas or as of now) i meant that the more content you push out can hurt the future ideas instead of pacing and making sure you put your whole heart into(which you do by knocking them out of the park) im fine with how many you do but in the long run i worry about how you will feel. Not gonna lie, it is a lot. I get like the most, or at least the second-most, Patreon notifications from you! And your Audio pool - excuse me - OCEAN is vast, But being an active creator is not a bad thing. It keeps platforms and communities alive. I come here every day multiple times looking for specific audios, looking for what's new, looking to be surprised, looking for something nice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. There are some VA's that BARELY post 1 audio a month. Though that also varies a lot. Few have strict upload schedules. But it's really sad because the creators I follow I like really much and getting so little is... well, sad :(((. Especially if the script of that one audio is not what I was hoping for... :,-( That being said, I don't want people uploading content just to fulfill some quota. Burnout is a real thing and it's a bitch. But you uploading content is the REASON I come here! The less there is, the sadder it is. You could say that having a lot of audios makes them each less impactful, because people aren't going to listen to everything if there is only so much time in a day. But choice is a good thing! People aren't "pressured" into being content with the one audio they got. They can decide and prioritize the posts that they think they will enjoy. And besides, what is somebody who just discovered your (Or anyone else's) Content going to do - listen to EVERYTHING? Fuck no. They look for stuff they might enjoy and the latest posts. (Probably, I mean, maybe they listen to everything, I won't judge) Point is, I'm a power user. Or addict, I suppose. I can't get enough. I would love better search functions from Patreon. Looking through big libraries is... time-consuming. People who only check their Patreon once a month - damn, do you only watch one YouTube video per month too?? smh couldn't be me.

i say you do put out a lot and as a consumer its a good thing but for you as a creator it can be bad. In a general statement I would say if you wanna keep your progress rate going go ahead, but also if you choose to take weekly or more breaks in between go ahead too. or even do a massive content drop then take long breaks after whichever makes you feel more free and fulfilled.

Well YouTube is... YouTube. Reddit is such a hivemind I'm glad I got out when I did and it's only gotten worse since then. Twitch, while a solid option, is a bit of a pain for mobile users because I've gried the Twitch app and it sicks all kinds of ass. Honestly, I absolutely love how you do things now. Patreon is a flawed but good enough platform and I feel like we as your audience can interact with you as a creator a health amount.

As a neurospicy with a similarly manic work ethic... Please don't let your output become a self-measurement of your worth. You're worth FAR more than your publication count, and the quality confirms that. Assuming your inner voice is anything like mine... Please rest assured that you are NOT "getting everything wrong," no matter what your inner voice wails. (Getting everything wrong, in my opinion, is only possible via committing a particularly heinous crime :-P ) But the key point is... Holy cow you work hard. And it shows. There are very few VAs I've seen that keep up such an aggressive schedule without relying heavily on scripts written by others or feeling the need to completely recreate their channels from scratch on a near-yearly basis under a new public identity (which I imagine is a completely different but no less valid kind of mental strain). One thing I learned from a video game streamer named DDRJake (who could EASILY do some limited VA work if he wanted, given how many people state they listen to his streams to help them sleep etc) that completely threw me off was his completely reversed strategy to the norm; he unashamedly refuses to put himself through things he does not actually enjoy in some way, as otherwise he'll lose the love for his income-generating job. He even uses "Viewer Reduction Strategies" when streaming to reduce chatter or undesirable behaviour in his streams. ...Maybe we're thinking about this in the wrong way? Should we be considering his path of "if you like what I do, awesome! If not, you don't have to stay..!" I know that flies in the face of the mentality that, for example, I was brought up with, but... He seems a heck of a lot less stressed than I ever am..! (Guess why I'm a Teacup Audio subscriber, you guessed it, Sleep Aid!!) I guess the thing that I perceive to have hamstrung TeaCupAudios (no surprises here) is how the YouTube channel seems to get targeted for take-down... If not for that near-constant kicking in the kneecaps, your platform would probably be still 'climbing' in popularity. Are you aware of if it's particular audio types that are getting blocked ("Dude That's Wholesome" is an example of a spin-off channel that was made to get around that problem)? Or if there has been aggressive reporting/flagging (a la "MamaYunya," who has been through three channel renames AND turned off comments), or is it more that it's getting "de-monetised" (which slaps down the likes of "Endearin' Audio" from time to time)? And... Hear me out... If it's the latter... Maybe 'ignoring' monetisation will let the YouTube channel survive and act as a 'pointer' to Patreon..? Not ideal, but hey, no-one really likes hearing adverts while they're trying to relax...

I think the upload rate is fine but that's a consumer view. If you feel its too much for you then please don't feel pressured into making more for us. If any of us aren't ready for another upload then we can always come back and listen later but if you aren't happy with how often you do it then you should adjust accordingly to fit your own situation and feelings

Personally I think you need to do what is best for you, if that means some months you share more content than others, great. If not, that's okay too, but as a content creator, at least giving your viewers and patrons a heads up if things slow down. Sometimes we need to work at our own pace, because setting a consistent schedule for prolonged periods of time can be very daunting and is a lot of pressure. You're doing great though, and what works for other creators doesn't always work for you as an individual. 👍

If it's causing you to struggle creatively (meaning having a hard time making content) yes slow down. If the pace you're going with audios is the equivalent of just: 'cooking dinner for one'; don't change. If anything do the thing that "hehe happy brain chemicals go brrrr"

I feel this is your primary platform at this point and you post as you feel. If though your scared it's to much or to infrequent, try setting specifik dates for release, or make a post each month of some stuff you will release and mark dates were you hope to release something your keeping secret. I also think noting what is what would be good, like what placement they got in a poll or if it was a Tea's choice or maybe something you yourself came up with. Being on the spectrum i know these are things id likely do because order 🤣

I have brought this up many times previously, so you only realising this now hurts a little. I fail to see how your higher rate of content production is a bad thing beyond burnout, and most of your peers suffer worse burnout from a much lesser workload anyway. I see four pathways that you could take: 1) develop a reputation acrosd all of your chosen platforms (and I fo mean all of them) for having the best productivity of any VA (not including livestreams) 2) tone things way down to a content production rate comparable to your peers and keep most of your time to yourself for the real world, including hobbies and family/friend interactions 3) livestreams and/or gaming, especially with us 4) any combinations of the first three, including any two of the three or a combination of all three

You could lessen the audios to like 2 a week. I think it would also be fire to work on some collab audios with other VA’s just to broaden the reach and exposure.

i don't consume other VA content but when i have looked it seems like they dont post as much on patreon because ALOT of them also have fansly/of which you dont. so i wouldnt say you post too much on here its just that this is primarily where your audience is.

You're doing amazing Tea - I know the old saying is "how can we miss you if you never go away," but don't take that to heart - I, for one, had to cut back not too long ago on folks I support because of you know, the usual financial nonsense, but I stayed precisely because you create so much that I truly feel like I'm not just getting my subscription's worth, I'm getting WAY MORE THAN THAT. So on the one hand, I'm quite happy with the volume you produce, but on the other, you could CERTAINLY tap the brakes a little bit, take normal vacations like a person with a job (because you are) and I doubt any of us would go anywhere because of that!

Most YouTubers I follow, have a Patreon for incom, they would leave YT (doesn't pay has much, and they have requirements that are hard to follow and make their job not as enjoyable as it used to.). You, not enjoying what you do is the last thing I want.

Always showing up late to these posts, but: Create as much content as you feel capable of. I'll second the other patrons that say don't overwork or stress yourself out, and apart from that - if you like your output, that's all that matters!

Tea, I find it an interminable blessing that you create and share so much for us. If you want to try branching out and building your reach and portfolio elsewhere, please do, but do NOT think that you're somehow producing too much; the only time that is ever the case if it's too much for YOU to maintain.
