Wonderful work Tea! I loved the beginning where she was rambling about making the cake and trying to reassurance herself that it should not be hard to make. Her utter happiness that we enjoyed our present and the "happy birthday" was lovely along with the snuggles, kisses and giggles. Her saying that she is not a stoic or aloof and wants all the warm love was great to hear. Thank you Tea for continue this lovely series.

Such a sweet story. Her happiness that the cake turned out well was so endearing. She is completely entitled to all the cringy parts of caring. One thing to keep in mind for future reference, if making a cake is too much trouble, a few strategically placed dabs of icing (preferably applied after the pizza boy has departed to avoid embarrassment) will remove any thought of cake from the gentleman’s mind. I loved this story, Ms Tea. I totally concur with the Renaissance Faire references, if my 35 year old memories are still fresh. Don’t get me started on the first time I met my late wife’s dad, picking her up to go to a faire. I was dressed as Robin Hood, although it looked more like Peter Pan. He didn’t bat an eye, like all his daughter’s suitors showed up in tights and doublet. Your stories are awesome, thank you for sharing them with us.
