β€œI wanted to be a slutty nurse, not a sickly baby.”

…

DISCLAIMER:

My intention is not to fetishise illness or treat having a partner with a chronic illness as some kind of romance category.

The truth is, some people are chronically ill. Their everyday lives are impacted by illness. And some of those people will be in relationships. The audio is merely trying to show an example of that.

I hope that I haven’t glamorised chronic illness. I’m autistic and I get colds and chest infections a lot. There’s nothing romantic about your body physically stopping you from accessing events, plans or meet-ups. But regardless of our individual circumstances, the human spirit has a way of making the best of it.

This is the intention of the audio. Love (platonic, romantic and familia) sits beside illness, tragedy and death and says β€˜I’m not going anywhere’.

I hope you don't feel like you have to apologize for everything Tea. It's an audio. We get that. Don't overthink it. Feel better.

ERGI

Serious question. Is it cannon that after this audio ends we burrito roll Tea into the blanket and feed her hallowen candy?

TeacupAudio

I do and I don't. More than anything, I am just sorry in the most objective and removed sense. I am sorry that I get ill so often and that it makes it difficult for me to do the things I want to do - including work. But I can also logically see that I can't control how often I get sick. I eat well, exercise, go outside, take vitamins and socialise. I do what I can. And that's all any of us can do. Appreciate the kind words.

Thank you!!

Wonderful work Tea! Love the rambles even though she was sick and we figuring out we can do something else like cuddles and watching a movie instead of going to the party. The sickly voice, fire crackle, heartbeat and hair playing gave it cozy vibes. Thank you Tea for another excellent audio and I hope you feel better soon.

Blindluck92

I'm frequently sick or suffering from migraines, so this one speaks to me. Thanks, Tea.

This hit home, having chronic illness ain't easy. Thank you so much tea!

Thank you tea! I appreciate videos like this. I have a chronic pain condition and have been dealing with it for over 25 years. My condition isn't visible. Some days I can walk and go to the gym and some days I can't use my hands or get out of bed. It takes a special kind of person to to accept that sometimes I just can't do things and it isn't because I don't want to. I have 24 pain management surgeries a year (12 at a time, twice a year) to function as well as I do. I don't see this as glamorization of a chronic condition I see it as representative of a real world situation. There aren't too many ASMRtists who do audios like this. I appreciate it.

Hey, I had to pause this audio to look up demand avoidance, and reading the Wikipedia entry for Pathological Demand Avoidance was like looking in a brutally honest mirror. I may need to get an appointment with my psychologist.
