Hey Teacups -

I know I'm supposed to be on break, but I just want to let you know that I won't be uploading anything for a few days.

I'm having a pathetic case of self-hatred and I just loathe everything I've recorded. I sincerely apologize. I'm gonna take a real break (one where I don't just say I'm having a break and then secretly work and snoop online) and come back having gotten myself together.

With the past year, the move, the pressures and upsets, I just feel like everything I make is absolute trash. And I can't put that out and expect people to pay for it.

If you can bare with me for just a few days, I'd truly appreciate it.

Tea, take all the time you need, and if it’ll help, when you get these feelings of self hatred, just say “whatever” to them. I get them every now and then and just go “whatever” to them and just do what I’m supposed to do on that day whether it’s chores, work, or whatever. The feeling will stick around, but if you ignore it, it’ll go away eventually anywhere in an hour or at the end of the day.

Hey Tea, there are a few things so I want to respond in order. This sounds suspiciously like you're not taking a break. 🤨 Ah, a lady of culture, I also hate myself, haha. I'm pretty sure your being too harsh on yourself but don't stress, sometimes you just have to make the choice and cut your losses, don't beat yourself up and take the break you keep mentioning. 👍 I can very personally understand stuff getting on top of you and I find the only way to get out from under it is to take a step back and a break which you've promised to do so you don't need my input here. And lastly we'll, or at least I'll, be fine. You make the world better but if never want that to come at the cost of burning yourself out or hating yourself. Now do me one favour and don't read this comment because you're supposed to be chilling.

As someone who is intimately familiar with the self-loathing struggle (and has relied on your channel to get through the worst of it in recent years to be honest), I want to say a few things: First, absolutely go and take time for you. As much as you need, seriously. We're not going anywhere. Second, after several years content with lurking around as a YouTube subscriber who occasionally enjoyed free stuff, I'm actually one of your patrons here now. If the content of 2020 hadn't been genuinely outstanding (and if I hadn't been thoroughly pissed at YouTube for that little ban incident that you did NOT deserve), then I wouldn't be here. So, whether you believe it or not, take whatever solace you can in the fact that I LOVED your content from the past year (and I doubt I'm alone in that sentiment either). Lastly, we love ya Tea! You've nothing to apologize for. I feel safe speaking for everyone here when I say that you've earned a break countless times over. You've been cranking out quality content at such a pace anyone would get burnt out, much less someone already contending with those kinds of demons. I'd encourage you to take however long you truly need. Don't feel pressured to pick back up in 2 or 3 days from now if you're not ready. Even if it were a few weeks, I'm not going anywhere. Wishing you the best.

Hope you’re stayin safe and well! Kind of a few slight cures for self hatred i found are (winter) going up to the snow and just building a fort in it or if you live where it snows building a fort outside your house drinking coco and watching as it snows! (summer) going to the coast and just watching the waves or going on a camping trip / hiking trip, spring going on a hike to a decent spot to watch as the wind blows thru the grass, (fall) hiking thru the trees and seeing them change color or even going to an aspen grove! Removing yourself from work from time to time helps also especially when it’s like paint, drawing, audio, video, or photo stuff cause it stops burn out and then you can enjoy it better and the critic inside you will stop nagging bout how bad it is! I dunno I say a few cures but feels like I just kind of went scatterbrained on this message! Either way I hope you stay safe and come back feeling better!
