"Anybody else find talking about sex really tedious? Especially in dating situations. Like, bro, I don't wanna talk dirty with you, I wanna know your favourite dog breed and how burnt you like your toast! Fuck."

As long as the deal breaker topics have been covered, I think it should be a mix of like 75% not sexy tak to 25% sexy talk.

peanutbutterxxx

I prefer to spend a nice afternoon with someone talking about a lot of things before getting to that topic, it's not nice to see that specific topic being the first one that the person you have a date mentions.

NextDoorAzn

I like my toast like I like my dogs, golden brown.

The Digimon Guy

You just cant force talking about sex. Like if you vibe with someone, eventually sex-talk will work its way into conversation naturally. Until that point I'm just tryin to figure your favorite food, favorite anime, and see if my dog likes you 😊🤣

NuculearToast

Depends on the context and how comfortable/deep the relationship is. Like if its someone I just met asking for sex then I'm gonna tell them to back off but if its someone who you have been in a relationship with for years and its sexy time then its ok

NearisL

It's something important to discuss but not until you are officially a couple. Getting to know who they are as a person is certainly way more important.

Bolter66

On dates? No. With friends? Even the girls I’m friends with.

Swearzy

I like my toast semi charcoal with an amount of vegemite that would give you nightmares

Bill Pedersen

God I feel old. What happened to romance the slow build up to a beautiful story, apparently i'm a dinosaur, i have gone extinct

As a person whose never had close friendships let alone a relationship, I feel like I'd be too embarrassed to talk about anything sexual with anyone at any point in time tbh. Especially if I knew they liked me, I feel like if I revealed too much they might not like me anymore lol.

Ghostship1776

I don’t feel very comfortable taking about that conversation. I never even been on a date before but I’m trying and I hope I find the right one.

Anonymous

A bit yeah. That being said, if you both have an understanding thats going to be strictly about a conversation and swapping opinions about things, then i find it enjoyable. Its fun to pick at peoples brains. Who knows? You might find out something new

Jeremy Knight

No, I've never dated before and I doubt it'll ever happen. However someone asking about sex that early probably finds you really attractive or is just wants a hook up.

orc_daddy

we dont go on dates

Andrew Nelson

It been so long for me, I don't know what is standard these days.

Cup Of Earl Grey Tea

Me (the most uninteresting guy in the world): "Wait, you guys go on dates?"

cpt_yakitori

I feel that's an usually tactic used, because the other party is incompetent on how to proceed in this whole dating process. They treat sex like a goalpost and the rest of the relationship happens from magic afterwards. Myself, it was long talks about mutual subjects of which sexual themed creativity (we both make NSFW stuff, she does audios n I do art), talked about mental health, a lot of talk about food and what kind of pillow was best for movie watching.

Jonathan Hamilton

I don't find it tedious since it's something that needs to be discussed (huge nerd and more data is almost always better)...but it has a time and place. I would much rather find out about the other person's interests and stuff since that is going to be the vast majority of the time you spend together. Quite honestly, it's a heck of a red flag to me if you start talking sexual preferences too early unless it ties into something else or was brought up by something outside the normal conversational flow.

Richard Hardslab

Never found it tedious myself, but on the flipside there's a limit. Also never really been dating, so it's been a rare subject for me.

MrNobody

Yep, sexual pressure. One of the many reasons, why I can‘t find dates.

Joseph Brown

Both sex and toast talk. Do it at the same time. It's more efficient that way.

Keito_Krono

Honestly and that's why I'm still single 🤣

Tryston Boldwyn

I have been making strides to stop talking about sexual topics with people i'm interested in, but clearly it's not enough :P

YourMagnet_adult_version

In fact, it is purely individual for each person. I think you can talk about it at least just in funny form on the first date, this is quite normal.

NakedAlice

It's hard to say, but I don't think that many people are ready to talk about this topic in a dating situation. I haven't had it yet

TheNoisy

Lmao I can’t even keep a second date 😂

Trygveblacktiger

Luckly i dont need to, i just show em my bionicles collection XD But yeah i get what ya mean,
