Since there's mere minutes left in the month, you had to know this was coming. Bonus show time! And despite the increasing heat and everyone's daydreams about barbecues and fireworks, we've decided to go in the polar opposite direction, because, well... we gotta be us!

For this month's bonus episode, it's another one of our patented eBay dives, and this time, we searched high and low for the best-and-weirdest auctions for stuff from HALLOWEEN, 1996!

Yep, it's a big dose of Halloween right on the cusp of summer, and we hope we know y'all well enough to say that you won't mind dipping your toe into the spooky waters long before the season properly starts.

We've done several year-specific Halloween eBay dives before, but as things turned out, 1996 was an especially strong choice. There were so many great items! If you'd like to see the auctions we're discussing, follow the links below, for however long they last!

1) The Virtual Pumpkin on VHS! (...also on YouTube!)2) Blockbuster Video Michael Myers Store Display!3) Kenner's Goosebumps Monster Head Maker!4) Count Chocula with new Monster Marshmallows!5) The 42" Bela Lugosi Halloween Blow Mold!6) Elvira's Night Brew Six-Pack!

We always have fun with these eBay dives, and we hope you do, too! This month's main show is a few days behind, but it'll be up no later than Wednesday. It's another big one in a series of them lately, AND it's quite timely, so be on the lookout for that this week!

As always, thanks so much for supporting the show, and we hope everyone is doing great!

I needed Summerween! Great episode as always 🧡

This breezy, east coast, late spring weather has been feeling very peak fall. I've been feeling like I need to visit Spirit Halloween and buy a PSL the past two weeks.

Am Rife

I always listen to this while I'm outside walking. Today when I stopped to admire a rainbow flamingo lawn display someone set up for Pride Month, Matt started talking about Don Featherstone creating the plastic lawn flamingos. Perfect timing! I had to laugh.

I didn’t even know how much I needed a boost of Halloween. But it did remind me! When are we going to get another Horror Hall of Fame Awards episode?

Anita

did yall really do a halloween show in May? lol Thanks for reminding me to do my monthly ebay digs, haha. I used to not be a halloween person due to reasons (no friends, I used to be too big to wear a real costume) , and I'm really trying to like halloween again.

Stapled Spine Fanzine

Was the Ice Cream Man IN THE ROOM with Matt?? How IS Clint Howard these days??

Thebarfside

Even tho Halloween season starts July 5th It’s never to early for Halloween .

Don Featherstone sounds like a Flintstones character that would definitely be rockin an ascot

Snuff Shock

I had the Bela Lugosi blow mold! He was a regular fixture in my teenage goth bedroom circa '97 and I believe he moved with me when I went to college a year or so later. I'm fairly certain I had him until around 2002ish but I have no idea where Bela went from there.

Errm, ACTUALLY Fred Jone from Scooby Doo wear a neckerchief not an Ascot. The Fred Jone Appreciation Society settled this debate years ago. It was ugly and violent. Several members were killed.

Pre-Halloween starts for me this time of year when I go to a couple of conventions and I realize I have limited time to get some Halloweenish projects finished before September. Going to Monroeville Mall this week where Dawn Of The Dead was filmed in 77 for the final Living Dead Weekend. They're tearing down the mall soon. I may have to chain myself to the Romero bust on the main floor to stop the bulldozers. Watch for it on the news.

I had an idea for a summer show, (bonus or reg) Summers of my youth were domintaed by summer movies The framework would be At Box Office Mojo, you can look over summer movie box office receipts by year. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/season/summer/1994/?sort=releaseDate&ref_=bo_sd__resort#table Select a year and you could each choose 3 movies that you've seen, give trivia, make Purple Stuff connections and just riff the way we love to listen to you riff. Just an idea, i know summer time topics aren't as bountiful as Halloween or Xmas.
