Bonus Show: Tales from the Darkside VHS Dive! (Patreon)

We’re ready to drop the first of TWO Patreon bonus shows for January! Yep, we’re throwing you a surprise double this month! This is a weirdly fitting episode to publish on Friday the 13th. Join us for a deep dive into a 1991 WPIX broadcast of Tales from the Darkside, covering not just the episode, but some of the great commercials that aired during it.

At that point in 1991, Tales from the Darkside aired after midnight on Sundays, so you gotta picture us as scared tweens, watching this freaky show on our fuzzy bedroom televisions.

This particular broadcast was of a classic episode, too – Trick or Treat, which was actually the show’s pilot, and featured a horde of monsters along with the guy who played Grandpa on The Lost Boys.

The commercials we’re highlighting cover everything from candy bars to Freddy Krueger. If you want to watch ‘em, we compiled all of the TV spots that aired during the episode. Check 'em out on YouTube!

Enjoy the spooky show, and stay tuned, because we still have January’s BIG show and a second bonus show yet to come!
