New Episode: Disney's DTV Monster Hits! (Patreon)

The latest Purple Stuff Podcast is here, and it’s a special one!

Disney’s DTV Monster Hits was a prime time television special that ran on Friday, October 30th, 1987. “DTV” was a play on “MTV,” obviously, and the special consisted of clips from tons of Disney’s spookiest shorts and movies, set against various pop songs.

This one is near and dear to us, so we were thrilled to make it the subject of our latest podcast. With a special assist to Walt’s Vault, we were able to dive into the COMPLETE 1987 broadcast, with the original commercials and everything!

Join us as we celebrate some of Disney’s freakiest works, plus some old school commercials covering everything from McDonald’s to long-dead sitcoms. (PS, if you want to just see all of the commercials that aired during the broadcast, we threw that on YouTube.)

That episode should be on your regular podcast feed now, but if not, here’s a direct link to the MP3.

But wait, there’s more! We got so wrapped up in the special that we were inspired to record an EXTRA bonus show, covering two more commercials that aired during DTV Monster Hits. (This is in addition to this month’s “real” bonus show, which is yet to come!) Find that one over here, if you haven’t already.

We hope you dig the new show, and the new bonus! We’ll be back soon with more Halloween goodies!
