Hello again, another video from the stash room. This is another I recorded before we left on holiday, and it's a few quick answers to a few great questions.

A question about yardage. I just knit “magnolia bloom”, with two strands of mohair and one of merino. My yarns’ yardages indicated that I would need 3 skeins of merino and 7 of mohair - twice as much yardage of the mohair as I was holding it double. However as I knit, I always had some mohair left over at the end of a skein of merino, and I never touched that last ball of mohair. I don’t think the yardage on the ball bands could be wrong so what’s happening here? I was holding the 3 yarns together the whole time but used more merino.

Ah, gauge...I generally knit to the specified gauge, but... I once succumbed to a much-discounted kit for a fabulous pure silk pullover. No matter what, I was NOT "getting gauge." No way. No how. My "eureka" moment...I could knit the SMALLEST size (to fit ample ME), and it fit... Weird.
