As a Latino, I loved this performance so much. The way he was able to tell a story through the visuals was amazing, from the sugar fields, to the bodega, to the part of him handing the Grammy to his younger self. We’ve had back to back years of great Super Bowl performances. Whoever is performing next year has big shoes to fill

to answer your question, yes, the wedding was real, the couple apparently sent Bad Bunny an invitation and he invited them to get married on stage at halftime. he even signed their marriage certificate as the witness :)

Nahh, I don't even know that restaurant 😂 LA is a lot larger than people realize, we have around 26,000 restaurants in LA county...I'm not gonna know all of them lol additionally, the best tacos here usually come from food trucks. I rarely ever go to a brick and mortar restaurant for tacos chile 😭

at the end of the performance where all the flags came out he's basically giving a shoutout to all the countries that make up the "Americas." for context in Latin America we refer to everyone from North and South America (including the US and Canada) as "American" and US citizens specifically as "Estadounidenses" (United Statesian in English), at the end he's basically saying that all the countries in North and South America and the caribbean make up the "Americas" and celebrating the diversity and culture of all countries, hence why people were probably getting lit at the bar you were at lol, as a latino myself, it was very emotional hearing him shoutout my own country of origins,

his performance came at a great time especially now with everything going on with ICE and how openly racist our government has been. it’s actually still blows my mind that him performing made so many people mad just because he sing in spanish 😭 i’ve seen clips of republicans claiming obama was the one causing division yet they’re mad at anyone who doesn’t speak english and automatically accuses them of not being american despite puerto rico being in america

After he named the countries he said something else though, so that’s what I was inquiring about. Someone already clarified though that he said Latin Americans are still here in The USA, sending the message that they belong here, which I love

I think Gaga made sense because of the wedding. Throughout this performance he was showing all the different parts of Latino culture and experiences, so having her as the "wedding singer," performing the biggest love song of the last year, just fit. I think it was cute, even if she isn't Latina and doesn't make Latino music.

It's not the end of the world, but Gaga being there made me roll my eyes a bit 😂 I'm Afro Latina and felt this was just such a culturally impactful moment for us, so having Gaga be there was just strange. He included all those other influential Spanish artists and actors, then just Gaga randomly?? Idk it was just weird. I would've felt the same way if Kendrick randomly introduced a white artist during his super cultural moment last year. It's ok to celebrate our culture and people entirely, since it doesn't typically happen on such a big platform like The Super Bowl. But again, it's not the end of the world. I still enjoyed, but these are my thoughts

In Greeny’s defense, when you paused and said “right here”, he just kept naming countries. At the end he said, “United States, Canada, and my motherland: Puerto Rico”. Bad Bunny often does this at concerts and it’s a common thing at Latin clubs etc to call out countries and people basically cheer when their countries are mentioned. Then at the end when he put the ball to the sky he said “we’re still here” real quick, so it wasn’t really a speech, just two words. I’d guess people were still mostly going crazy over him mentioning all the countries. Also, before he lists all the countries he says “god bless americas” so when he lists all the countries he’s basically saying “America” doesn’t just mean the US because in Latin America they mean everyone when they say America

I’m not a fan of the Gaga performance, but I know he has praised Gaga many times and that she is like one of his biggest inspirations/favorite artists, got him interested in drag and fashion. But in general, I think people should bring on a guest who they have a song with lol. Like it was obvious when Kendrick did his show that he was gonna bring SZA, made sense when usher brought on Alicia Keys and lil John etc

I mean nothing about this convo needs a defense, it isn't that big of a deal lol but in that moment though I thought Bad Bunny was done naming countries so I was trying to preface the moment I was referring to...I can hear the countries clearly being named so that's not what I was asking about 😂 I live in LA, we primarily have Mexicans here..everybody at the bar was silent when he listed all the countries and only went crazy when he made that last statement, which is why I asked specifically what he said there. So a couple people responding saying, "he was just listing countries", I'm like I knowww I said that lmao but yeah someone already explained what he said at the end which expresses that Latin Americans are still here and are gonna be here, which was a great message and explains why the crowd was hype. I think Gaga being there was more about her being one of the biggest artist of last year and at the same time being one of the few white artists that really use their platform to help Latin community….i will agree when I first watched I was like “oh” because they have never collaborated but when I did my research on what she has advocated for in regards to the Latin community…it kinda make sense Still tho…..I would have loved to see him perform with some of Latin people that were dancing like Karol g, cardi, etc….still a beautiful performance tho 9/10 🙂 he could’ve even brought some of the others artists like Shakira, Anita, or Rosalia but maybe they had other things who knows lol🙂‍↔️ And yes…the couple was real they invited him to their wedding but he instead invited them to the Super Bowl so he could be their witness ( this have read now, I don’t know how true it is😂🙂)

I swear every performance I look up, and Gaga is speaking in another language, reping another culture, or dancing with ethic people of those cultures and not skipping a beat. Being from DR and growing up in NYC this was definitely something very profound especially now. There are some people from Latin America that are also trying to find an issue with him performing only in Spanish in the states. Unfortunately we all have our uncle ruckus, but the last two Super Bowls have been about Black American and Puerto Rican culture and that’s what matters.
