Latto never said that the "ice boiling" bar isn't a reference to Ice Spice. She's confirmed on Twitter and elsewhere that it *is* a reference to Ice, so she's not running away from from what she said or backing down or whatever. All she said was that she only chose to add the lines going at Ice *after* Ice came at her. Basically her point was that having Ice in the background in the original snippet she released wasn't an intentional shot at Ice, but the lyrics she added *were* going after her.

What’s she’s trying to say which she isn’t articulating well is it isn’t a “diss song” but she IS throwing jabs at ice. If it was a diss most of the lyrics wouldn’t be about a dude. Just like how “Hiss” wasn’t a Nicki diss song BUT jabs were thrown. But I feel like her team should’ve helped her roll this out better- I like Latto but this rollout wasn’t it.
