Songwriting Journal Week 1 Day 6 (Patreon)

Playing around with a few Vengeance loops today. When sample packs offer straight-up loops, it can be easy to use them as a bit of a crutch since the music is already pretty much done for you. What I've done here is take a bunch of instrument loops in C#minor and layered them over each other fairly hap-hazardly, which sounded mostly chaotic and bad. Then I slapped a beat over the top and only allowed the other sounds to come through when each drum in that beat hits. The result is much more rythmic and tied together.
Ended up sounding pretty French-house-y by accident!

I must note that this idea is not something I just came up with, but tried after watching this.
