Chekov and Captain Terrell of the USS Reliant NCC-1864 were the ones that had gross ear worms put in them

Bill Humphrey Media

I took two Delta flights this past week with an upper respiratory infection wrecking my ear tubes and I have never felt more sympathetic to the nearby screaming baby who also had no control over the ear pressure situation. Absolute agony. Guess it could have been worse somehow!

Tom O'Keefe

I can’t believe that the test you did on this episode was what made me realise I have aphantasia ffs

Sayanne

Yeah same

Chaya

I also have “aphantasia” but tbh I do genuinely believe you’re all making it up when you say you can picture stuff… like you’re all just trying to fit in and be cool and you’re lying. The same as people who claim to hate pineapple on pizza.

re. the qualities of penguin meat, see Jason C. Anthony’s “Hoosh: Roast Penguin, Scurvy Day, and Other Stories of Antarctic Cuisine”

also Frederick Cook of the Belgica expedition is well worth looking up. that entire expedition was a fascinating disaster, well documented in Julian Sancton’s “Madhouse at the end of the Earth”

William

I don't think it was quite touched on in the description but the King Cake made for Mardi Gras typically has an annoying little plastic figurine of baby jesus in it, and if you get it in your slice it's supposed to connotate good luck. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_cake

Bryan Zeck

Andrew's "couldn't picture it" just too quick

Elizabeth

So yes we do in the US often call pontoon boats just pontoons. We lack nuance in this way

Magister Foxitude

I didn’t realize they were named after anything else lol. The more you know!

I made my husband listen to the Wallace and Ladmo segment. His brother was in the audience once, and gave his seat to another kid who ended up getting a Ladmo bag (not every kid got one, it was seating-based). He still wants to recreate a Ladmo bag to give his brother for Christmas someday. I’ve never seen a single second of the show, but he got a kick out of the coverage. 😂
