Lucy and Ben are joined by ex-husband of the show and Savant Garde host Jesse Black to discuss: The gift of an egg, a speedy yet dignified embalming, a missing horse found, and the promise of 25 years of technological development. The thing I was trying to think of was the Socorro isopod.

I spent the entire 70 minutes or so expecting a reference to the episode "Ooh, my egg" which also had a mini horse for the photo, feeling mildly cheated rn

Contractor I worked with at the Air Force Weather Agency was AF Mortuary Services before separating. He worked at Ramstein AFB in 1988. Left that job shortly after his experiences there and went into IT. Look up Ramstein AFB 1988 and you'll see why. Anyway, yeah... the AF be picklin' folks.

a very short update on quantum computing is that in regular computing you get closer to the right answer with more computer time but in quantum computing the errors in a computation can get larger with more computing time, and as far as I know they are still working on that issue (this is due to uncertainty in measuring the states of your qubits). And this is not to mention that all queries to a quantum computer must be in the form of a hamiltonian. Also, they are so desperate to have someone find a use case that literally anyone can sign up to use their quantum computers: https://quantum.cloud.ibm.com/

Fun fact about the US Air Force job responsible for handling dead bodies: that job role is called "Services" and includes managing kitchen operations! Correct: the cooks also handle the bodies. This makes sense because they also handle the most important piece of equipment that is critical for handling bodies and food: large walk-in refrigerators.
