This is one the rare times where just seeing the episode title made me laugh out loud.

I live about an hour south of Albuquerque out in the middle of nowhere, I'll keep my head on a swivel for NASTYTA.

Top-notch Theo episode. Put it in the trophy case.

Is it just me or does Theo seem to get more neuro-typical as time goes by?

I really love how Ben connects with the Southern California desert. It IS a magical place and you’re right to speak of it in reverent tones

Boonta Vista

it's just such a strange beautiful place. I hope to one day retire to a dead Hollywood guy's house out near the Salton Sea

Brotha that makes two of us. I would encourage interested parties to check out the Bombay beach biennale and also this fantastic documentary about some desert rats https://youtu.be/I4pFat3VTkI

Hooray my Playlist has been mentioned

I will, however, not add Andrew's song. That's for the other Playlist of songs mentioned

If one wanted to get some Devin Townsend in the outro, Hyperdrive from Ziltoid would probably go alright.

Callum

just me or does Theo have some crazy reverb on his voice this episode? like he's recording from a big cathedral? really ups the grandiosity factor for the parts where he's talking

Boonta Vista

he absolutely refuses to put a shagpile carpet and a beanbag in his tiled office no matter how many times I ask

Theo Pengelly

It's NOT tiles and I HAD a rug until my cat got SICK and pissed all over it

Asa Wagner

Speaking of outro songs, I discovered a punk band from my home town I didn't know about, Robber Robber, thanks to (I assume) Ben

Listening to the Hotline Song I can tell Flight of the Conchords were really important to you guys x

Re live action 70s Disney movies, I *highly* recommend The Cat From Outer Space. A large chunk of the movie revolves around a cat telekinetically fixing sport games/pool for his human friends, one of whom is a degenerate gambler who apparently has a doctorate but dresses like a 70s sleezeball and specializes in garbage science? And all the guys at the bar where his bookie operates act like they're in a 30s gangster movie? A surprisingly charming movie that was for some reason on the Criterion Channel for a hot minute.

The stolen Firebird was probably had by Snake from The Simpsons, that's his car! It takes premium duuude! Premiuuuumm! Duuuuude!

I’m imagining a 50 year old farmer who’s emu ends up passing before them and it’s the scene from Two Towers with the flowers on the grave of his forefathers
