Seeing Lucy post about starting Evangelion and then hearing her talk about how much she likes Evangelion gives me an amount of joy that should frankly land me in prison

It’s margarita flavored

The flipside of this is that as a Last Two Episodes Apologist I got genuinely mad for a second at Theo saying they basically dont exist

If he's doing interview, That's Louis Theroux

They obviously had their budget slashed but I think they did some interesting stuff in spite of that

Fuck I love this podcast

pressdarling

Andrew's groan and Theo's "do we have to do this?" punctuating the Trend Watch theme

James

I would like to submit that the Trendwatch!(™️) theme should be updated to permanently include Theo’s “do we have to do this?”

UD-wat

Ben playing the Trend Watch theme but avoiding the Comedian of the Week theme week after week is the true mark of a perfidious coward

Tyler Jacobs

listening to the Polish national anthem at dawn is a great way to start the day

pretty cool thing about a pipe of full of liquid/pressurized helium is that you should not try to search for leaks by running your finger over it to try to feel the escaping gas, as the helium will simply go straight through your skin and inflate your hand

Double Utility Poles were such a problem in my community that one of our new Mayor's claims to achievement as a Councilor when he was running for Mayor was that he had pushed through reforms on Double Utility Poles. The private utility company leaves them standing until they rot in place and are just hanging in the air fastened to the new one. They prefer to pocket the profit margin than do any maintenance

Theo Pengelly

Surely that's something they could just put in the contract right? Right??

Bill Humphrey Media

The state regulators and Legislators have made sure to prohibit almost any interference by municipal governments in the activities of the private utility companies, and anything that is allowed to be regulated locally or put into contracts is then routinely ignored by the companies until brought to court, which is expensive to do. It's a very functional economic and governing system that definitely doesn't make the public gradually go insane over what would otherwise be minor inconveniences.

Hey Ben hope you're well please ignore this if I assumed wrong but just wanted to check you're not mixing up the Dove MEN +care zerO% aluminium salts 48hr deodorant with the regular 48hr stick that actually has the aluminium in there, they're both stocked side-by-side and under the same MEN +care range and labels look almost identical. But yeah again just disregard if you're not a dove MEN guy I just thought I'd throw ya a bone if you were. Take care of yourself!

This is such good news, normally I have to eat 5 Babybels before I work out for my protein needs but now I can get away with eating 4 Babybel Pros instead!

I really love this podcast. (I didn't get around to this episode until today.) Whenever somebody says "this is terrible radio" or "this is the worst podcast" or something like that -- that's how you know it's kicking all the ass. Love it.

Noticing a lot of double poles ever since listing to this, I think they spark joy I'm glad the poles get a new friend
