Yes, old El Paso taco kits are a staple of white people Mexican nights in the US as well, I have to assume the tradition diffused over to y’all. And we do say highlands with the schwa, at least in most parts of the country!

In defense of Theo’s opener, my Aunt had been in California 50 years and still says “quesadilla” like …that

I just read on bsky that local Dem dickhead Scott Weiner had back to back house parties tonight as he stumps for Nancy Pelosi’s seat, and I’m crying imaging rich ppl dismissing him with, “Your name a weiner fr???”

that "find out who you are not allowed to criticise" quote has been widely misattributed to Voltaire and was in fact first said by American neo-Nazi paedophile Kevin Strom (he was talking about The Jews)

My favourite band is 'Dan Andrew Jackson's Jihad'

I have a picture of myself as a child, standing in front of the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. After they held a competition for children to sing the Oscar Meyer theme song 😂

Theo Pengelly

I can't even remember what I was using it for but it was about a decade ago

Elizabeth

I was using it for some medical records coding type project maybe 8 years ago. Now it feels like saying I taught in a one room schoolhouse

Vanessa P

it was especially cool when elon musk quoted it because there's no telling if he did so because he thought it was an awesome le epic libertarian quote or knew it was a nazi quote. Not that there's all that much distance between right-libertatians and fascists (see: the fate of the Tea Party)

Trojan Zebra

Every time you release the midweek episode I become the bonus pig

Anndra

They took the Weiner Mobile around the Laguna Seca racetrack and there's this picture of it going down the corkscrew that's just incredible to behold

Frank

I love when you guys do an episode that feels like that Frodo and Gandalf joyfully laughing at each other moment, except it goes for like an hour

As I learned the catechism, it's that a Thai economist noticed that lots of emigrants were sending money home from running restaurants in foreign lands, and convinced the Thai govt. to start a school to train people in running restaurants. They get solid training, and there's a set of different restaurant templates for a few different price grades. This govt. program has been very successful. It has a lot of graduates (you have ordered noodles from them) and also promoted the development of an export industry for spices and necessary foodstuffs. Now, I wish to hear the Libertarian critique of this concept.
