Hi all! Just letting you know we’re having a one week break from Boney Island due to appendicitis, then we’ll be back next week with some fun guests.

Thanks!

append- as in appendage. citis- he's just forgotten the "l" so hes having some of his fingers removed and replaced with clits. very cool

All good mate, take care! I've recently started listening to these, only a couple of episodes in, but hearing you mention the books these are based on reminded me just how strange Tempe's character is. In the book, she's a middle-aged mother, and one of the warmest, kindest, most empathetic characters you'll ever find in this type of violent crime-solving series. So weird how they completely inverted her for the TV show, ripping out her humanity, her book version's greatest strength, and turning her into a gender-flipped version of the "jerk genius" trope.

the weirdest thing is that, even though the TV character is called Temperance Brennan, the opening credits say 'Based on the life of Kathy Reichs'. not based on the books. which...feels like a massive insult?

Ignatius

i concur with this decision. making someone watch Bones so soon after surgery could severely hinder their recovery

amusante

I wonder if there's a TV show out there that shows the forensic value of the appendix.
