I live in Alaska and can confirm that moose meat is similar to venison and is tasty. It is illegal to sell moose meat commercially but you can either hunt one or sign up for the roadkill harvesting program. Several hundred moose are killed by vehicles on the highways every year so rather than letting the meat go to waste they harvest it and give it to people who sign up. When I was a child we got hundreds of pounds of moose meat through the program and it took a few years to get through it all. Moose tacos, moose burgers, moose steak chili, etc.
