I think that there is a lot of base prejudice involved the way the Ukrainian refugees are being favored but I think some people are genuine kind hearted oafs who saw the war getting a lot of play in the media because Russia is a state enemy whereas the refugees created via US interventionism cheered on by Australia and Britain can not be allowed to saturate those countries as they may inspire a more inquisitive posture towards why the US is blowing up their countries and Australia is helping. On the other hand a bunch of Ukrainians who are white and probably hate Russia can easily be coopted and turned into banderites.

The real question is now where in Pennsylvania to actually erect the Great American Hall of Name.

My bank did actually unexpectedly cease to exist a couple of years ago. At the time, I was with a small local bank. They got bought out by a slightly larger regional bank. They sent out new cards to everyone's address, and for most people this would have been a bit of a hassle, but nothing more. However, at the time I was backpacking in Europe, and was caught by surprise when I tried to use my debit card in Istanbul and received one of the strangest error messages I'd ever seen. After spending the better part of the day on the phone, I found out that the reason my card no longer worked was that my bank no longer existed. Thankfully, it was near the end of my trip and i had enough cash to last since my old bank had warned me that my card wouldn't work in Serbia. Anyways, banks are still slightly less egregious of a scam as crypto.

Having 'done my own research', I'd like to nominate these almost unbelievable but *totally real* Pennsylvania place names to the Hall of Name: Normalville, Virginville, Blue Ball, and .... Intercourse.

Nominating Kunkletown and Mehoopany for future Pennsylvania hall of names! Also, “Throop” is pronounced like “troop”. A local joke is that they count “One, Two, Tree”
