i hate that Theo speaking so seductively of his Skoda Octavia actually got me looking up local gumtree ads... it truly is a very pleasant car to drive, i briefly used one some years back but i simply don't currently have a good reason to replace my 2014 Astra that i bought for like 400 quid (800 if you count the repairs it immediately needed)

Very true in a similar vein to the Scots, albeit unlike Scotland there was internal colonial exploitation of Welsh material resources by English capitalists and landowners. We're probably somewhere in between the Irish and the Scots in that sense... Like you said, it's complicated. The Welsh language is the most conserved as a living first language of the celtic cultures though, with ~900k speakers and ~500k daily users. Surprised to see another Welsh person here to be honest!
